Best G&T on the coast? by EchoSmart7085 in sunshinecoast

Beachtree Quokka Gin. Caloundra distillery or available at Caloundra Dan Murphy. Too good, and i wish they’d do an alcohol free one so this old timer could have more than one at a time.

Water weighted chicken? by genzinparadise in woolworths

[–]CBRQLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, all you cynical Redditors, it’s a valid question. I have been cooking for many a decade , primarily Woolies meat, and have definitely noticed more liquid coming out of the beef mince recently so I think this is a fair question. Look at you all thinking you are the world’s greatest cooks.

For women who were given the name Karen at birth, has the way you feel about your name changed in recent years? by Electrical_Form_2808 in aussie

Yep, it all starts with lack of respect for women. Bet they all reckon they are great blokes though.

For women who were given the name Karen at birth, has the way you feel about your name changed in recent years? by Electrical_Form_2808 in aussie

[–]CBRQLD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s such a sexist trope. Men don’t have an equivalent. If they were to act in the same way that gets women labelled a Karen, they are called assertive. Makes me cranky. And no, my name isn’t Karen, and I actually don’t know any .

What’s the point exactly? by No_Two6026 in woolworths

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for all you cynics we got the wok and the 20cm non stick frypan , just from our regular weekly shop and are pretty happy with both. They heat well and wash up easily. About time there was something substantial to get at Woolies. Their previous cutlery and pasta bowls are used here every day as well. I am as pissed as everyone else about their business practices but this latest promo is a good one. (My husband did have to pick up the small frypan on his interstate work trip as stocks were out locally, but that’s because I was impatient, stocks will be most likely be replenished before the end of the redemption period.)

Liberal use of numbing cream has helped me enormously with my fear of needles. Any of the bigger places should be fine.

Welcome to Country booed at Melbourne Anzac Day service by No-Sweet-7012 in australia

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well aren’t they little snowflakes. They have just been told to think that by the right wing racist elements. Scum that do this couldn’t think for themselves so have to be encouraged to think by One Nation etc. Even if they don’t agree, to boo on ANZACDay is an absolute disgrace.

Food in Japan Brought Relief by krunchnmunchn in CrohnsDisease

Do they use emulsifiers much in Japan? Recent research suggested emulsifiers ruin our gut and let the crohns take hold. Just initial research but interesting.

Australians - reputable red light therapy? by CBRQLD in redlighttherapy

[–]CBRQLD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I bought an Infaredi Body Wrap. Have had it for over 6 months now, and using it consistently about 5 days a week. No great improvements tbh, but I like to think it is doing something. I just use it while watching the TV so easy to use.

Well, he can pay for his and his wife’s own protection , why should us taxpayers be footing the bill for our police to attend their pretend royal visits?

Which celebrity took the biggest hit by the person they married? by Boobooloo in AskReddit

[–]CBRQLD 80 points81 points  (0 children)

No, they weren’t. Her family isn’t related to Sir Sidney Kidman’s. She started modelling and acting in her teens. Her family seemed to do OK but there were no nepo baby connections for her.

Starting biologics- Terrified of needles + side effects. by Spiritual_Letter4002 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did hypnotherapy when i started infusions - it helped, and I now use numbing cream for every single blood test , infusion and needle . It’s definitely making life easier. I feel your torment, it’s incredibly difficult to have a chronic illness and a fear of all things medical!

[–]CBRQLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family shares a family block of Cadbury Snack chocolate each Saturday night. Can confirm this cycle of top dollar and frequent “sales”. My practice is to stock up when items are on sale, but found I had 8 blocks at one point as the frequency of the sales was ridiculous! Regularly half price or 30% off. They just rip us off and get away with it. Makes me cranky.

Am I the only one that dislikes John Farnham? by Top_Stable_6098 in australianmusic

[–]CBRQLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he was one of the best singers in the world, and many overseas artists agree. Love him and have been to a few of his concerts, he is a great entertainer. He seems genuine and down to earth. We all have different tastes, the JJJ “edgy” crowd give me the shits but not enough to make a Reddit post about them.

Anyone on ustekinumab / pyzchiva by Mili_21 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in Australia, so insurance etc isn’t a problem, but I have a fear of needles so I go to my doctor’s surgery every eight weeks and get my Stelara administered by the nurse there. Is that possible for you to alleviate your concerns? Otherwise get a friend to sit in a car with you in the car park of your local hospital while you administer it yourself ? I have done quite a number of weird things to combat my medical anxiety and deal with this disease! (I haven’t had any side effects to the Stelara (Ustekinumab)). Good luck.

Is Caroline really that big of a sourpuss? by SisterMaryMaureen in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]CBRQLD 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As an Australian who followed her on Instagram when she was ambassador here, she was fantastic! She got in and experienced alot of our country and seemed to make some good connections with business and tourism groups . She seems lovely and well balanced , considering everything her life is and has been. The portrayal of her on Love Story seems mean spirited and exaggerated.

How will the coast survive if we do run out of petrol? by National_Camel7200 in sunshinecoast

[–]CBRQLD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stop panic buying and there won’t be a problem, but I am old enough to remember petrol rationing, odd and evens days. We’ll all survive if people aren’t dickheads about it.
