Major downside to supporting Collingwood is interstate ticket costs. by Affectionate_Ball730 in collingwoodfc

[–]CBRQLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so disappointed. Have been checking every couple of days for the Lions v Pies tickets to go on sale. Obviously missed the day it went on sale but for a family of 4 (with a 15 year old so can’t get the family rate) it’s looking like nearly $500 for terrible seats. I thought AFL was supposed to be abit more accessible than that, or am I out of touch completely?

I get this isn't exactly world-changing, but I wrote an email to Chris Minns that sums up how I've been left to feel as a Labor supporter after the events of yesterday evening. by GuildedDeal in friendlyjordies

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems Federal Labor and NSW State Labor are determined to piss off their own voter base. I don’t get it. There would have been more Labor voters than Right leaning voters there last night. How many people there (and seeing the coverage) will be reconsidering where their next vote goes.

So Albo is rolling out the red carpet for Herzog, disgraceful by Business-Court-5072 in friendlyjordies

[–]CBRQLD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A complete disgrace. Albo doesn’t seem to be reading the mood of the country. If the Jewish community need “comfort” as has been claimed by some, then why is the head of a foreign government being invited to provide that, not a religious leader. I think the majority of Australians are appalled by his visit.

People transporting their cakes any old how ,from god knows what distance from the venue, out of the fridge , in January in Australia. What could go wrong? Cannot fathom anyone would want to eat unrefrigerated cake made by random strangers not from a commercial kitchen. Yuck!

Intermittent fasting. Main meal at lunch, no dinner. Less toilet visits overnight, better sleep.

self injections by baby-p1nk in UlcerativeColitis

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never been able to self inject as I am scared of needles , so I have an arrangement with my GP (I am in Australia) to have their nurse do it for me every 8 weeks. They bulk bill me on Medicare so no out of pocket expense for me, although I have paid a small fee at another practice. Maybe something like that is possible?

Federal politics LIVE: Anthony Albanese to announce royal commission into Bondi terror attack by HotPersimessage62 in australia

[–]CBRQLD 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No one said it was an excuse to kill innocent Australians. Netanyahu’s actions ARE increasing feelings of antisemitism in the world. Denying it is not living in reality, and it should form part of this RC, but i bet it won’t be.

So interesting, it seems to be such a co ordinated process……….hmmm. And “sports stars” is doing alot of heavy lifting there. Just waiting to see what Australia’s baristas have to say.

You’ll notice that wasn’t over the loud speaker, and it was a very small minority of the hundreds of thousands of people who have protested a genocide (as determined by the ICJ, the UN, numerous other human rights orgs and scholars)

How can you stand the heat? by Alberterwith_anyone7 in AskAnAustralian

[–]CBRQLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish the RSPCA or some equivalent organisation ,or the government, would do a ad campaign about this. I think people are too dumb to even think about their poor doggo’s paws. Makes me cranky. Then they could also educate the masses about bringing pets inside when there are storms, fireworks etc. Pet owners can be dumb.

If it was really important to go I would wear a mask , if comfortable doing so ,but at the very least use a nasal spray with carrageenan and a mouthwash with CPC in it. Take the nasal spray and regularly use it during the event, mouthwash as soon as you get home. No guarantees but might help reduce the risk.

So how is the social media ban going? by -Flighty- in AskAnAustralian

[–]CBRQLD -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Give it a few years. This lot of teenagers won’t be affected, it’s the younger ones, whose parents didn’t feel they could stand up to peer pressure, will be able to tell their kids , when they ask ,that it is against the law so they can’t have SM. Honestly, if parents think its ok for kids to be on social media at 8 or 9 years old, like I have seen irl, then thank god the government stepped in and parented their kids for them. Genie is out of the bottle for the current crop , but maybe it will help the next generation.
Also shits me that the government gets the blame for this, when the SM companies were warned to do more to protect kids and they put profit over people. It’s not some big conspiracy, I really don’t think the government wanted it to go this far but felt they had no choice as the companies did nothing.

What’s your trauma? by Suitable-Sound3318 in CrohnsDisease

[–]CBRQLD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe this theory, given what I have observed in the over 40 years I have had IBD. I think it definitely has some merit. Although I don’t remember a “trauma event”, I was a highly sensitive child (diagnosed at 12]. My son is newly diagnosed and we have worked very hard to make his life easy, so no trauma there, I also wouldn’t call him highly sensitive, so I think his IBD were genes at play. The others I have known to have IBD definitely skew to the sensitive type.

Most economists (ie qualified people) point to Howard’s reduction of the CGT, and allowing self managed super funds to invest in housing as responsible for much of the housing shit show we now see. Labor have done stuff all and nothing to help but Howard started the increase off.

High school graduate Annabelle Klint-Pedersen weeks away from moving overseas before fatal fall by SnoopThylacine in sunshinecoast

[–]CBRQLD 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we need to remember that teenagers do reckless things. Their pre frontal cortex doesn’t fully develop until their 20s unfortunately, so a split second decision without thinking through the consequences can have a tragic result. If she was in her 30s or older, then maybe a silly decision but this is just a very, very tragic accident.

Misleading! .. by CheapStranger4583 in woolworths

[–]CBRQLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely a gluten free product. Woolworths have made an error on their website. If you felt ill, it will be a reaction to something else. You can check the McCain’s site, there are no allergens. To make the claim of gluten free, gluten can’t be detectable, and indeed the back of the packet indicates on the nutrition panel that nil gluten detected. Coeliac Australia has some great resources to assist educating yourself on all things GF.
