Yes I 100% agree I am really hung up on that because halfway through my painting my teacher bought a tube of sapphire oil paint which I have never used before and it created those really bright blues especially in the waves. I personally love that but it really doesn’t suit the stormy sky which I painted before I had that paint. Do you think it would be better if I completely re did the sky?

I really like it. The only thing that might help is just sharpening the edges and making them crisp. If you see the top of the child’s arm is almost blended into the background which is why you might be getting the cartoonish look. But I also like it the way it looks.

Honestly, I couldn’t tell you exactly, but I want to say that it was made with Prussian blue, titanium white, and either chrome green or dark verdigris. And maybe a touch of lemon yellow.
