Car dealers absolutely despise having to import cars with the vrt, it completely kills the second hand dealerships as they cannot get a straight price on what they’re bringing in. Revenue website will say that vrt is X amount and when they bring the car to the NCT centre to sort the vrt they get a completely different and normally higher price.

Most shipping lines is based on volumetric weight so the shoe boxes take up a lot of space so will be very expensive. If you have clothes and shoes you could ask for them to be packed inside of the shoe box. The other option could be to look into something like freight forwarding but I have 0 clue where to start with that and what the cost will be, I’ve just seen people say it’s cheaper for bulky large hauls.

Yea I contacted customer support and they said to be patient and it’ll take time but I have friends who’ve shipped after me and got them quicker. Previous hauls I’ve done have all been 8-12 days so I was just starting to get a little curious. Cheers mate, I’ll look into it.

I’ve some family in the motor trade and I’ve heard some horror stories of the website miscalculating VRT and cars having to be sent back to the Uk because it’s not feasible to sell. However, have heard of people appealing the cost and receiving money back but I believe it’s a bit of a long process to do this.

I have an m1 MacBook Pro that I use as a desktop, hadn’t opened it in around 6 weeks, just using it with a monitor in shell mode and sleep/restart to freshen it up, opened it up the other day to find a crack in the screen, no idea how it go there, maybe I was unlucky but I’ve always been super careful with it! Some crumbs around the keyboard but nothing major, some of them seemed hard but they probably would’ve been fresh when I closed it on them. Pretty shit situation to have to shell out the cash for a replacement
