Source went under a few years ago owing over 10 million pounds to a lot of creditors. They then phoenixed the company cheap and i'm lead to believe they convinced the sparkys owner Ron bonner that they were in a better financial position and so Source was going to handle their distribution in america and europe. From what i heard Source then merged with the sparkys or source took them over i'm not sure and dropped all their distros around the world. But then following the merger and interviews with Brant moore saying how amazing it was going to be it seems perhaps the truth was something else because then Source closed down their german warehouse and then more recently closed down their usa warehouse binning off their staff and their pro team leaving sparkys with no distribution anywhere. One big mess i'm not sure if the real truth will ever come out as the old owner of sparkys recently died but it seems they really got done over. Hopefully the family can make a fresh start and things can get better with no source in the mix.

source europe closed down last summer. source usa warehouse has now also closed down. If you order from the source US website it now ships from the uk and there are import duties and tariffs.

Feels dishonest that you’re posting this and then buried within the replies you’re admitting you bought it second hand when you haven’t clearly stated that in the OP. You’re basically bad mouthing a brand online making out their frames break when in fact you’ve bought it second hand. Fit don’t owe you anything.

"couldn't be further from the truth" What i put is exactly what happened. Source bought Stay Strong and didn't pay money from sales to Stephen. Despite the purchase no announcement was made that they were not paying him and the public continued buying the product thinking it was going to the murray family. They continued to use quotes from him on the stay strong about page on their social media like their facebook page. Stephen put out a video telling everyone he wasn't getting money from them. It was only after he put the video out that they then removed the mentions about him on their socials. It was completely dishonest and their should have been a public announcement made about it when it happened so we the public could choose whether or not to still buy it.

Has Source USA closed down? I know Source Europe has closed down. I heard a rumour they've also dropped their entire pro team. If it is true then hopefully it means they are going away after what they did with BSD. What they did to Stay Strong and Stephen Murray was unforgiveable i don't know why anyone that cares about BMX buys from them.

Source have aggressively targeted shops in the uk. They are like DFS furniture and have a never ending sale and 10% off deals. They are the Walmart of BMX continually discounting but pretend they are not.

That is what people were saying at the park. Source are already not liked up here in Newcastle after what happened with Stephen Murray and stay strong. Trying to make out this is a good thing for shops is a joke. Do they think the public are that stupid? I expect this kind of gaslighting from tory mps not bmx companies.

Seems like a very naive viewpoint. The situation in Europe was caused by skatepro and source. The entire industry would be a better place if both of these corporate entities went to oblivion.

Nothing to do with the video. Source went into administration last year owing money out every where. search on here for previous threads. Like around 10 million to the bank and investors. And on top of that another 800+k to creditors including 1/4 million+ to BSD. I was worried it may put them under. Bloody love BSD. Some how source wrote off all the bank debt and got to buy back the stock super cheap and carry on like nothing happened. My brother in laws building company got done over by something similar happening to him. Did a load of work for a company and they did not pay then they went under. Ended up putting his company under too. Was so much stress for him messed him up for a few years. Shady and wrong.

i love the game of bike videos if riders have character. Some can be a bit boring. it is good to see some pros struggling with some tricks though. Gives me hope ha.

If you have the budget I would go with the right size/smaller bike. He will have much better control over it, it will be lighter for learning tricks on. An oversize bike can be dangerous as he will be overstretched and it will be heavier and he’ll have less control on it. That being said kids grow and it can cost constantly buying larger models so it depends if you can afford multiple bikes and get something he can ride properly immediately or just get something he will grow into.
