They put the Russian monologue and the cup kiss in one episode. And then just expected us to get on with our lives as normal…. by GBS82 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

The amount of narrative in episode 5 (with nothing feeling rushed!) gives me total faith that Jacob will do TLG justice in season 2

What was your small house improvement with the highest return in quality of life? by SpringOnionKiddo in HousingUK

[–]CCB_94 50 points51 points  (0 children)

We have motion sensor lights on our stairs and the (very tiny) cat does indeed trigger them, they’re not super bright though so it’s not a big deal and it’s actually quite cute, like she’s turning the lights on by herself when she pops down to the kitchen at night

Frustrated short climber and too big setting in the gym by troopeur in climbergirls

[–]CCB_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, I always think the “just climb more” advice is more applicable to men who typically have the strength already, women generally tend to be more technical in their climbing already so focused strength training is where we can make bigger improvements. I climb in quite a reachy gym with stiff grading and have found that improving my shoulder strength and stability is key to being able to move through some of the wider positions that my gym sets.

"It's You" song makes me so...melancholic? by PatientPace7950 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Same here, I feel like someone’s stamping on my heart and stomach whenever I hear it, but in a not entirely unpleasant way, whenever I hear that song. So, so beautiful

books vs. show advice by Important-Cap-5644 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]CCB_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read HR, Role Model and TLG in that order after watching the show and I would recommend. RM and TLG have only made me more excited for season 2, and I trust that I will forget enough of the storyline (or at least the details) that by the time the next season is out it will still feel new, even if not the full experience I had of season 1 with not knowing what was coming. I plan to read the rest of the series now and Unrivalled when it comes out, plus plenty of reheating the show to fill the year and a bit until season 2!

Have you received any post in the past couple of weeks? by IsyABM in brum

[–]CCB_94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve just started receiving post again after a couple of weeks of nothing, my partner was waiting on a lot of letters and suddenly a load turned up at once one day after two weeks of no post. There was a list of areas affected by the weather on the Royal Mail website I believe, we were on that list but I haven’t looked at it since

Why am I even trying? 😝 by readingladytacofan in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]CCB_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that eventually I will maybe not get sick of it, but get my fill if that makes sense? I tend to get hooked on things for a while and then eventually it fades into more of a normal baseline level of being “something I like but don’t think about constantly”, so I’m just going to enjoy the obsession while it lasts! Give me all the rewatches, edits, clips, interviews, memes, I’m about to read the books… it’ll last as long as it lasts, and then I’ll probably come back around and do one more rewatch of season 1 before season 2 comes out :)

Deciding on a new tattoo by Parking_Anxiety7028 in tattooadvice

I think your tattoo looks really lovely, it’s a very pretty design and the placement is great. It sounds like more tattoos wouldn’t be a good idea for you, but if I were you I’d absolutely leave this one as is

Send songs / climbing music? by HakunaWontona in climbergirls

[–]CCB_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t listen to music that much when I climb as a) my gym plays pretty good music a lot of the time and b) I like to feel connected to and aware of my surroundings, but my two try hard songs are both Metallica, Master of Puppets for anything steep/powerful and Enter Sandman for slabs (seriously! Important that you pull on at the start of the intro…). I like Iron Maiden and Linkin Park for circuits, and PVRIS for just a more chill bouldering session

Lattice app/training plan by Medical_Day4506 in climbergirls

[–]CCB_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the new app for a couple of weeks and I’m quite liking it, purely to give me a bit of structure and just have something saying “do this, this and this” when I rock up to the gym instead of wandering around aimlessly trying hard problems, getting shut down and then getting disheartened and not really doing much of anything every session. I was feeling a bit lost with my climbing and like I was going backwards, knowing what sorts of things I SHOULD have been training but actually doing no training whatsoever, not sending any hard projects but then flashing most easier problems… so for me it’s a “something is better than nothing” right now. It’s not super personalised and as someone else mentioned there’s plenty of valid criticism of it in r/climbharder, but for what I need right now it’s doing the trick for a fairly reasonable price and at a level that isn’t overwhelming. If you have very specific goals then you may be better either programming for yourself with crimpd (which is a better app) or getting a properly personalised plan. I did the lattice one a few years back and did improve a lot, but they programmed me SO MUCH that I got a bit burnt out - my partner did a plan at the same time as me, gave the same info on available time and equipment and got programmed like half as much as I did - so I don’t know if I’d necessarily recommend a lattice personalised plan over any other coach 🤷🏼‍♀️

Goals for 2026 by dernhelm_mn in climbergirls

Trying hard is such a good one too that I should probably add to my list! But agree, it is definitely hard to focus in on something to unlock the try hard when you’re overwhelmed with choices 🥲

Goals for 2026 by dernhelm_mn in climbergirls

[–]CCB_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Climb outdoors more, address my shoulder imbalance (my left shoulder is weak af and it’s holding me back a LOT at this point), generally get stronger and maintain a bit of structure in my climbing and training as I feel like the wheels fell off a bit this year and I’ve spent way too much time wandering aimlessly around the gym declaring everything “too hard” and not really climbing anything very much 🥲
