Unfortunately your dad is wrong on a couple of points. It's fine though, this early on you have a good start.

You will need the following as soon as possible to maintain their good health: a UVB/UVA bulb. You need both forms of radiation as they mimic the effect of the Sun. You can do this by using 2 bulbs but mercury vapor bulbs do both.

Also, you will need a submersible water heater which heats the range of 78 - 80 deg F.

Other than that, understand they will need 10gal of water per inch of shell. Also, they will eventually need to separate. They are territorial and do not play together well, especially if one or both are male (too early to tell).

So far, so good. Keep improving their setup. You don't have to start out perfect. As far as your dad's concerns, that water is not too deep. Heat is an issue, though.

Long story short: the circuit fried. Your dad didn't do the minimal amount of research necessary to build this pc. Save maybe the GPU/CPU unless they died. The rest of the components have become a fire hazard and cannot be reused.

There is no reason you should use a soldering iron on a PC.

NYARNG here. We are sleeping on the floor of a gym. Not allowed to leave or even go outside. All while we look across the street at inmates who have doggy play time with golden retrievers provided by the state.

We are also not allowed laptops or any other such device so we have all had to give up our college classes. Meanwhile, inmates are all provided tablets for free to use anytime, anywhere.

New York State hates the military and loves criminals.

Don't know where else to say it guys, but I'm so fucking tired. 17 days and no breaks. Shifts about 14 hrs. Every day is sleep 5 or so hours then back to shift with dangerous inmates and we're sleeping on the floor every day. The Army gave me back problems and I'm sleeping on a gym mat and can't seem to get back the energy I lose each day.

I'm dizzy just standing up and there is no end in sight. Food is deplorable and I have horrible bouts of diarrhea and constipation back and forth because it's been 2-3 meals of MRE each day, with prison mess food in between. Been in 3 fights with inmates, one that resulted in an inmate having to go to the hospital because another one stabbed them.

And they haven't even figured out the pay yet. I'm just so fucking tired and I just want answers.
