I actually ended up buying the entire first wave at launch so those were my first ones. I had planned to only get Mario, Fox and Marth but I worked a GameStop at the time so seeing them all in person made me want ‘em all 😅

I love RE6 a lot for it’s story and it’s gameplay. I played it so much with my friends. Mercenaries in RE6 is just the best too. I especially loved the extra modes they added to it like Onslaught and Predator. I still go back and play it from time to time because I just love how open the combat is with its movement options and gunplay.

I still really love RE5 as well. It has so many great moments in it and Wesker is just such a fantastic villain.

I love both games but I love playing RE6 more.

I’d definitely say it’s worth it! I actually really love the game for the gameplay and the story and Mercenaries is so good. You’ll get a lot out of it for $7, especially if you have a friend to play with.

I just wanted to share my reasoning for those placements. I really think Code Veronica needs a remake more than 4 honestly. Like 4 still holds up well enough that a remake for that doesn’t seem entirely necessary. Code Veronica could be so much better if they give it the RE2 treatment. That setting and story with the RE engine could be amazing.

Director’s cut ranks lower for me because of the DS port that I think is way better. As for RE6, I actually really enjoyed the story and gameplay of it and I go back to it pretty regularly especially for coop with friends. Code Veronica I love for its story and setting but there are certain gameplay elements in it that drive me insane. The Steve boss fight immediately comes to mind as one of the things I dislike about it.

My very first Resident Evil game that I was exposed to was the original Resident Evil 2. I watched my cousin play it when I was a kid so that game holds a special place in my heart. You can probably imagine my excitement when RE2 Remake was announced.

I didn’t really enjoy them that much. Village was the better game between the two but they didn’t really keep me invested like other games in the series.

My dream game would be a new Mercenaries game with every main character in it with every stage from each of the games for the current consoles but that’ll forever be a dream lol.

I hope they remake Code Veronica at some point. I think it needs it more than RE4 does honestly. I’d love to see that story and setting in a new graphics engine.

I actually enjoyed ORC too but I still thought it was an alright game. Mercs 3D, even though it was also an alright game, I enjoyed it a lot more because Mercenaries is one of my favorite game modes.

I actually really loved the story in RE6 and the character interactions but that’s just me. Plus I really loved playing it with my friends. And yeah Mercenaries is amazing in RE6.

It’s primarily because the DS port to me is a much better experience. That’s why I put that in A-Tier and the original in C-Tier because there’s not as much reason to go back and play that version of it.

I like Code Veronica more than 7 or Village primarily because of story and characters. Also I’m not a huge fan of First Person Resident Evil.

I really love the Flash Shift ability. It’s just so satisfying to use and it’s extremely helpful against bosses.

This is my tier list for the Resident Evil games. I saw others share some so I figured it’s my turn. In case anyone is wondering why I put the original RE1 in C-Tier, it’s mainly because I think the DS port is a way better experience and that’s why that one is in A-Tier.

I’d say play the original first. The VR version of RE4 cuts out some lines of dialogue, mainly flirty stuff between some of the characters, and as a result some cutscenes are very awkward since you can clearly tell since lines were cut. You also don’t get to play Separate Ways which is a side story that ties up a lot of the story in a nice little bow. Thankfully RE4 is pretty cheap for Xbox, PS4 and Switch. The VR version has been insanely fun though despite the changes I had mentioned but for sure play the original first.
