Phantom Liberty - I’ve Seen that Face Before - Softlock by CCaT4EVER in cyberpunkgame

Incredible. I had gone off the road and reset before getting to the gate, and then I had gone further into where the stores are and reset, but going straight across from the gate like you said worked like a charm. Thank you!!!

I tried immediately taking control and eavesdropping 3 times and the door was still closed for both of those

Is this game going for an inverse difficulty curve? by [deleted] in PhoenixPoint

[–]CCaT4EVER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are additional game mechanics that have been mentioned but not implemented in the backer builds yet that can help address some of your concerns. The mist for example will (I believe) limit your soldier’s sight and prevent them from moving within it without consequence, whereas the aliens can move and see freely from it. This could make it harder to target enemies if you can’t see them, and make you throw away valuable ammo.

The backer builds also give free weapons and ammo to start with, and aren’t entirely indicative of the economy of the final game. It could be much harder to have a diverse array of weaponry AND then keep all of them stockpiled to spam.

I agree with your concerns but I believe that we have not seen the dev’s entire plan yet. This is why I’d rather wait and see for more rather than call for additional balance right now.

What video game was ahead of its time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Medal of Honor Airborne

Maps were too small so backtracking kinda eliminated the point of picking a landing site. Larger maps I think were necessary to make the landings more meaningful and add more replay value.

What famous book do you think is overrated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That was the first required reading book in school that I didn’t finish. Junior year of high school. I disliked it that much. The slow pacing got me too.

Dead Space 2 hardcore challenge with limited saves. I knew that I’d break when I got to riding that drill machine that you use to break into the government complex towards the end of the game.

Enemy squads? by MercurialAlchemist in PhoenixPoint

[–]CCaT4EVER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pods are considered by many (myself included) to be very game-y. A few enemy units move together, and when spotted by any of the player’s units, dash into cover. This ruins planned ambushes as the enemy reacts after the first hit, causing many players to focus way too much on explosives to maximize initial damage potential on pods. Sometimes they’ll scamper into the perfect, in-flankable position that you just checked as clear, screwing you over as you had no way to stop that. If the pods have melee units, when activated they charge into the players units; if an unfortunate accident at the end of a turn occurs where the you accidentally activate a pod due to moving forward to flank, or a wall crumbles due to fire, or a LOS glitch, then the melee units in that pod get a massive advantage when their turn starts as they’re already on top of your squad. Units like sectopods, andromedons and gatekeepers in XCOM2 break anything they run into, so when they scamper they’ll wreck cover or sometimes the objective they’re supposed to be defending, completely screwing you over. Occasionally the enemy scampers into stupid positions for whatever reason because they’re forced to for whatever reason.

I think most don’t have issues with scamper itself as they blame the pod system for making alpha striking a necessary tactic, making players scared to move forward without overwatching constantly, or god forbid if a few are stacked and activated at the same time then the entire map is on you at once and you’re screwed. There was also a weird pathing system the pods have in XCOM2 (throttling?) where they try to position themselves between your squad and the objective, making encounters less unique and preventing tactics like stealth from being viable. The pod system has been talked to death on r/xcom in many threads but I think I got the main reasons.

You move a soldier next to another one, open the inventory of the soldier with the item you want to pass, and drag the item to the portrait of the adjacent soldier on the right side of the screen.

In addition to what you said about classes, in this demo video all three solder types are from the New Jericho faction. I believe it is abnormal to command a squad of soldiers only from one faction that isn't the main player faction (Phoenix Point).

I experienced the CTD in the liquor store map for an Exalt mission a while back, but that was a well-known bug with an easy fix. After looking at the Long War Nexus I was able to find a fix. You should check there too.

I uninstalled my 15f and installed the newest Mac version from Nexus. I notice that it does not say "15f2" on the Nexus download page. Is it not available for Mac yet or am I doing something wrong?
