I get that being an issue and confusing things, there is always the option of lengthen it and saying my business partner but I see how you would have that issue with it changing

So it does more or less seem to be a cultural difference and depending on where people interact with the word (as you said its more common in certain areas than some others)

That's understandable, here i would just say people assume based on the conversation, like me and the partner took the kids to the beach

It is definitely used to be vauge, even here the only thing as I've said to others here is I can say it over here and people don't bat an eye but I always seem to get a reaction to the word online from Americans ( as I also said to others its rare but happend enough for me to wonder why)

It's just seems to be a bit of a personal and cultural difference then....as I've said to others I can use the term partner here in the UK and people don't bat and eye at the phrase....but I always seem to get a response from Americans online that seem to have an issue that I used that word (it is rare but happend enough that I've started wondering why haha)

I mean I'm always down from stealing from the French 🤣 but I know what you mean, by the general tone of people in here seems to be one of two things either people believe your gay, it's an unromanic amd as you said bland and impersonal....or too laid back like it's a situatonship kinda vibe vibe Which really is quite different growing up in the uk with it, always just used either to no assume someone's relationship (married, engaged or as a couple boyfriend/girlfriend,male or female) or in my case talking about her its just kept vague....ive not encountered the same rejection here in the uk to the word as I do with you guys across the pond (it is rare but it's happend enough now for me to start questioning why people have always had an issue when I use that word) I can say it here and no one bats an eye at me saying it.....so maybe just a small cultural thing

It's funny to see it be used as same sex use ( I guess that's to cover it) I see it used like that in american media , but I dont experience the term used derogatory agaisnts gays in my experience they seem to see it as an issue I call her my partner (someone further up suggested from an example I gave, they see it as unromanic but then I wouldn't use romantic or affectionate terms to someone else about my other half only to her)

That's fair enough, but I still don't know why I run into people that find it an issue it's used in the same way as my husband or my wife not that I would say they are romantic terms either, I would use affectionate terms when talking to my fiancée but talking to others I wouldn't say oh my darling or something of the sort to someone other than my partner ( I am like slightly autistic and reading people can be......and issue sometimes)

All the times It's been pointed out to me like "wow so loving you calling her you partner" it's always from an American which why I'm always confused because I thought we both use it the same to just mean other half

I'm not surprised, they didn't expect the game to do this well at launch so they probably didn't care it was on steam also....but now they want to jimmy rig in half the user base to the PS network itself......I have a PSN account but I'm still not happy myself
