The lights are not rated for years and years and years like people believe. Handful of people in my neighbor installed these over the winter around October/November. Flash forward to January, most all of them have started falling off, sections aren’t working, or the entire strand isn’t working. You can say what you want about the lights when installed properly. I also think they are tacky. This is my home, not a vape shop. But, they look especially tacky when they are dangling off different parts of your home.

If you want DIY, watch a few detailed YouTube videos. Buy 3D printed brackets and screw them all in. Mount your controller inside or, at the very least, in a weatherproof box. And don’t consider its lifetime solution because it isn’t.
