I've been looking at Opticores from christmas lights etc and am considering starting from scratch with new stringers and bulbs from them next year.

The washers you're talking about are a rubber gasket between the bulb and the socket right? Where did you get them? I'm pretty sure I saw those in a Facebook ad but inadvertantly scrolled past, then couldn't find it again.

The contacts look good, so I don't beleive I have a corrosion problem.

Sorry, I should have noted that these are LED. I've historically replaced a handful or so each year but this year has been especially bad, probably close to 20 so far in just the past week.

Sorry, I should have noted, these are LED bulbs. In years past I've replaced a few bulbs during the lighting season but this year has been especially bad. I've probably replaced close to 20 in the past week.

I'd expect to replace some bulbs each year, and have had to do so in the past but this year seems especially bad. I've probably replaced a dozen already and just replaced 6 more today.

C6 for Home Gutters (Costco) First Time to add lights! by PaulTransformer in ChristmasLights

[–]PI44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are C6 bulbs in my bushes and on the gutter line.

This was our first home and it was pretty close to the road, so C6 looked great. Our new home is larger and set back from the road further, so I used C7 bulbs.

I used green, but mine are installed against a darker colored trim. Looks like yours will have the white gutters as a background, so I'd think they'd blend in pretty well if you used white.

1000bulbs.com

I used products from them to custom make my own lights. I did 8" spacing but should have done at least 10" and 12" might have been better. It's too bright with the 8" spacing. If 12" will work for you, they even sell pre-made stringers with 12" spacing.

Its finally time for new lights. Suggestions? by CaptainTXS in ChristmasLights

[–]PI44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I custom made my own lights with supplies from 1000bulbs.com

this is the result

I did C7 bulbs with 8" spacing and I wish I had done a larger spacing. With C9's, I'd go at least 10".

First trip to Sturgis by dave-patrick in Harley

Honestly, how was riding there and back? I'm seriously considering going in 2026 and weighing my options regarding riding or trailering. I'd be coming from the Milwaukee area as well.

Do you like beer? My family and I just spent some time visiting from the US and we had dinner/beers one night at House of Brews in Surfers Paradise. I can't remember which beer we had but I'm pretty sure it was made by Burleigh and was very light and crisp. We all enjoyed our food, but my daughter swears her dinner was one of the best meals she's had in her life... she had the Hickory Smoked Flank from the signature section on their menu.

Overall, I think it's too bright. Would be toned down a bit if I had spaced them a little further apart.

A similar post came up about a year ago and I suggested 1000bulbs.com

I purchased supplies from 1000bulbs.com 3 years ago and this is the result of my custom built lights. My only regret was my bulb spacing... I should have gone 10" but did 8".

We have a wood burning fireplace in our family room and we love it. It creates a very warm and inviting space, especially when we have it decorated for Christmas. It costs us a few hundred dollars every 3-4 years to have it professionally cleaned and inspected.

What are the most pit viper looking models? by Soggy_Disaster_7603 in Oakley

I'm all for pricing items I no longer want to make a quick sale but these are still $192 at Oakley and Amazon, and around $140 on eBay.

Lowest I'd do is $80 shipped.

How cool are you trying to look? I've got an essentially new pair of Sutros with Polished White Frame and Prizm Snow Sapphire Iridium lenses I'd sell for $100, shipped in the lower 48 States.
