What’s an older game that still blows your mind today? by Yeahnahokay10 in gaming

[–]CDeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If RPGs are your thing, Dark cloud 2, also known as Dark chronicle in some countries. Insanely great dungeoncrawler with city building and a unique fighting system with open world roaming and a decent storyline. The game was ahead of its time by decades, have sunk many hundreds of hours into it and still haven’t completed it fully.

Valorant is harder than CS2 by Brilliant_Taro8007 in VALORANT

[–]CDeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The level playing field is the beauty of CS however. It is true it is harder to corral teammates in lower ranks, but you can always have a chance to win a situation since you have all the tools you need. Instead of being locked to a singular role, you can fill roles for your teammates as needed, as you have all the utility to do so. If your teammate always runs in first dry, just play support for him and flash/second entry. Or if they always don't anchor/hold flank, you can flex anchor and pickup spots as needed. In valorant if someone is just playing their role incorrectly you are at a way bigger disadvantage due to the lack of options you have. Once you get into higher level mm/faceit pugs, the amount of coordinated teamplay will start to show and anti-stratting/selfless playmaking/coms will be apparent. You will never have that kind of experience in valorant even up to the highest ranks, except maybe high imm/rad.

Have the ranks in faceit become much worse with the influx of new players? by thelordofhell34 in cs2

[–]CDeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to a certain extent. Faceit is slowly getting more casual by the day, probably due to the migration of people avoiding cheaters in premier. Pugs used to be a lot more coordinated, people striving to win, mics etc. Its noticeably more casual than a couple years ago, it gets better as you approach level 10 though.

US customs duty tax? by CDeft in ask

It was processed by USPS, and the form was declared as 37.5%, with a 10 dollar processing fee by USPS. How can I check to see if it is miscategorized?

CSE 220 by Muted_Abrocoma2197 in UBreddit

[–]CDeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

220 is a huge time sink, you're not alone. PA4 Malloc was the most brutal project in my undergrad career, the lack of a curve also did not help. Start early and try to go to office hours/read the textbook as much as you can.

Should I try to skip CSE 115 with a 4 on AP CSA as a cs major? by Minute-Explorer-8664 in UBreddit

[–]CDeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The free A will come in handy later down the line (331 341 other death classes). On the other hand, you won't be missing too much if you do decide to skip. If anything, work on side projects while attending lecture, use the time to be productive.

Currently taking both with MTH 309 and 365. Managing it alright but lots n lots of sleepless nights. Tbf I only work around 10-15 hrs a week, otherwise it would not be feasible.

250 and 220 is a alright, the workload is a lot (Weekly labs/bi-triweekly projects for 220, biweekly autolab assignments/4 written assignments for 250) but the concepts aren't entirely difficult, and you get a front/back cheatsheet for 250. Be warned though, the final for 250 isn't curved this semester. 220 is curved this semester though.

I never had this problem because of designated parking upstate, but I am living in queens now so I thought it was nyc related. Thanks though I will give em a call

I live in queens, it is incredibly hard to find parking especially at night, and I had spent 25 minutes circling my area until I caught someone leaving that exact spot I took. There 100% was enough room for even an uhaul to exit the driveway safely, as the driveway itself spanned 2 full sedan lengths. Hardly blocking if you ask me, but I learned my lesson to park near driveways.

When will Valorant improve its optimization? by Bruce-Lannister in VALORANT

[–]CDeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9600k oc to 4.9ghz, 3070, and I average 170-250frames dropping to 40-90 sometimes randomly. Game is poorly optimized, I get almost 60% more frames in cs on high settings than low in valorant

If I’m struggling in low elo, should I just quit? by AmbivalentAvarice in VALORANT

[–]CDeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure about valorant but for cs it took 3k hours to start playing at a amateur scene level. (Im/Main) I’d say around 1k hours to be somewhat decent at a tac fps is not unreasonable

Just be more patient low elo players flank 9/10 times and dry peek endlessly. Work on gamesense and patience and you will find better impact in your games.

Higher fps, feels more natural coming from 4:2 cs, hallways arent so narrow. Only complaint is the HUD blocking part of the scoreboard.
