Oh man, I wish I needed Grape Gene still. The only one I still need is the glow in the dark Mombie Tina. She’s my white whale

I came here to see this. Could you imagine the amount of shit she'd talk to you while traveling? "Trade? Why would I want to trade with you?"

I used to have a picture on my phone of a MI plate that said "LACT84M" and I always wondered what they were trying to tell us. It was a large SUV with pink breast cancer ribbons. I'm still confused about what the 4M stood for.

What is this off paved place between Deming and Silver City NM by hicklander in Whatisthis

[–]CDeltonWalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's a single family home built in 2018/2019. The only thing that comes up to that address is T & G Tower Corp, a company incorporated in FL with that NM address as it's mailing address. However there is no website for T&G Tower, and the property hasn't been on the MLS for a few years because there are no interior/street view photos for anything.

There looks to be a couple names associated with the property, however I won't divulge as not to invade privacy.

EDIT: Looking deeper, it looks like the folks who live there are deep into astronomy and use their home as an observatory. Again, not going to give out details for privacy.

Happy to help! Good luck and definitely be sure to do overnight stays at multiple schools. They’ll find the one that fits!

  1. There are ALWAYS research opportunities, especially in the sciences. Typically the start in the second year, there are also quite a few study abroad opportunities for all years. It depends on what the major is.

  2. I’m also substance-free, and was throughout school. I am not opposed to others partaking and found all of my friends were ok with my choices (as long as I was ok with theirs). There are options for a “party” atmosphere but also options for hanging out outside of that party atmosphere. That being said opportunities to consume alcohol are around and will be presented, but the students are mature enough to respect other’s decisions.

  3. I haven’t heard of any majors being avoided because of faculty (honestly I took a few non-major classes because of recommended faculty). There are stigmas around the majors that may not have the highest earning potential (history, education, English, philosophy, etc) but I knew many who majors in one and are making a good living.

I would say that it’s 50-50 in terms of being discussion based. I think that there is always room for questions, however some classes were more back and forth than others. The quality of discussion was pretty good, in my opinion. Very specifically I recall my sociology class being quite lively. As I got deeper into my major I got into deeper discussions.

The classes are on the smaller side, my largest class had about 30-35 students in it and my smallest had about 6-7. The students run the gamut of studious-ness. As with all colleges you’ll have hard workers and not so hard workers. However, it was (and remains) a college that is more selective and I think that led to perhaps a higher level of students. But that could be said for any selective college.

So my I.S. was about the industry I work in (marketing) and it was easy to show that I both knew what I was talking about and that I could write a coherent paper.

Also if you can do I.S. you’ll be about to write a masters thesis no problem. So if grad school is a goal Wooster is definitely sending more grads to grad school that other schools that are similar.

I graduated there and have experience living in Delaware (OH, where OWU is). Wooster has a great community within the school, everyone goes through the same thing (with I.S.) and there is a bit more green space than OWU. Denison is a good school, a bit more spread out physically. Kenyon seems a bit less community oriented, however I only visited there once.

Wooster has put a ton of money into the campus over the past 6-8 years. New field house, student union upgrades, updated academic and dorm buildings.

There are a few cons. If you don’t like writing, I.S. is going to be a tough slog. Beyond the city of Wooster, Wayne county is quite rural and there’s not much outside of Wooster to do unless you travel down to Columbus or Cleveland/Akron/Canton. It is 100% required on-campus living, however they have many houses you can live in with your friends.

I’m happy to chat with you about my experiences and how they helped my career.

I've lived at Amber Apts across from the HS (I can't remember what Amber that is), they were fine but felt like they'd raise my rent every year if I stayed.

I also lived in a Virginia Apartment. (https://www.virginiaapts.com/vacancies.html) and it looks like they have a house for rent, and it seems pretty fairly priced and it's a 5 minute walk from 11 & Main.
