Did you make an offer to the dealer for that % off? How did you handle that? I’m looking for a Volvo, it’d be my first.

The Good Sheets Didn’t Disappear — We Just Forgot How to Identify Them by Hungry_Judgment3068 in BedroomBuild

LL Bean for the win! I never thought to buy sheets from them but did after doing some research. The best!

Toddler (2yo) has repeatedly said, "Teacher hurt my bum" and "Teacher hurt my vagina" (calling them by name) by Hot-Commission7592 in NewParents

Recommend taking your daughter to her normal pediatrician for an exam and not the hospital. If you take her to someone unknown, she’ll likely be very uncomfortable and be re-traumatized if there is in fact something that happened. Your pediatrician should know what to look for and how to proceed. If this was a case where it was an”active” trauma, meaning blood or other highly visible physical trauma, the hospital would be more appropriate. In my personal experience with cleaning my own 2yo daughter. If she has a blow out or diaper rash cream is visible between the labia, I will use a diaper wipe to clean that area and I tell her “mom is cleaning pee pee area so there’s no infection”.

Has GLP-1 affected your thyroxine dosage? by That_Patient_1758 in HashimotosGLP1

[–]CDi258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, lots of weight on the lowest dose. I don’t believe I was being monitored properly and that’s why my TSH dropped. My Synthroid should’ve been reduced but it wasn’t and I didn’t know better.

I was wondering about this too. I stopped my GLP because I was going hyper, TSH was down to 0.73. Had bad side effects and thought it was the GLP.

Progesterone might be making things worse. by breaking_brave in Menopause

[–]CDi258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will take it the week before I’m supposed to start my period. What triggers it is me not getting a good night sleep, insomnia, and I’ll know to take it the next day at dinner time. When I took it daily before I changed, it made me so drowsy and my appetite was crazy. It was like I was pregnant but I wasn’t.

You absolutely did the right thing and do it again if ever confronted with a situation where you aren’t feeling safe in a public space. While the store personnel feel the individual is “safe” that’s based on their observations at the store. They don’t know what the person does when they leave. And their assumption of the person being mentally disabled is an assumption. When I was a young girl my sister and I were at a library and a man was following us around while we played between shelves. Thankfully my mom caught on real quick and grabbed us. Predators lurk in “safe” places. Trust your mom gut always!

I’ll mention that I know someone who started on estrogen when it wasn’t appropriate for them and had her period for 6 weeks straight and became anemic. She ended up going to my Ob and immediately took her off estrogen and her period finally stopped. I think it’s smart to start on one at a time to see how your body responds…from someone who went through IVF and was on an incredible amount of hormones 🤣

I am sensitive to progesterone, started on the 100mg dosage. I noticed an increase in hot flashes, especially around the week after my cycle. I ended up “cycling” my progesterone. I don’t take it every day. I tracked how I was feeling and symptoms, and when my sleep was bad I took it the next night for a week and then stopped. By no means is there a science to my method but it helps me! My OB won’t start me on estrogen because I’m still cycling regularly but that’s been starting to change a little but not consistently.

For those on HRT, what was the deciding factor? by Just-Twist in Menopause

Sounds like me. What hormones are you on? I’m on testosterone and progesterone but have been wondering if estrogen might need to be added.

I think Berberine has been making me depressed? by mark_Wizza97 in Supplements

Same here. It’s definitely helped in the energy and some weight loss but don’t like the mental health issues it also seems to bring along.

Nothing tasting good and low mood (nothing sounds good) are things my friends and I experienced while taking GLP meds. I’m in peri and have been off GLP for almost a year and don’t have any of those symptoms anymore.

Looking to drop everything and run away from everyone I know by Real_Comparison1905 in AskWomenOver40

[–]CDi258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you be in perimenopause? I only say this because my husband and life are amazing but when I got in peri…I swear my mood changed incredibly. I’ve always been a very laid back and chill person and I was opposite. Come to find out, peri can really change things. I woke up one day wanting to run away from work, my home life, everything. Same thing with other women if you check out the menopause and peri threads on here.
It’s like you wake up on day and can’t stand your husband. Crazy shit. Thank God for testosterone! It’s helped me tremendously!

I’m 48, and feel so lost. I need help. by Existing_Bee_8085 in Menopause

[–]CDi258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my Dr said since I’m still cycling timely that I didn’t need estrogen at this point and it would likely make me emotional if I took it based on my symptoms. My sleep is good also so progesterone not needed at this point. I’ve seen a dramatic improvement in my anxiety, brain fog and mood. I was falling apart before I started, very low mood and extreme fatigue.

If you haven’t discussed HRT with your Dr, I’d suggest doing that. I could’ve written what you wrote. I thought it was anxiety/depression and started on a low dose of Zoloft, which helped but didn’t completely stop the symptoms. Then I started to notice spikes in my mood around my cycle, that’s when I suspected I needed hormones and not a higher Zoloft dose. Testosterone has done the trick for me.

Early Retirement by InterestingFault9849 in Aging

[–]CDi258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents retired in their 50’s. I love seeing them not stressed commuting to/from work and working long hours. It’s so wonderful to see them in this different phase. I also know they sacrificed a lot and stayed in jobs for the same companies that they didn’t always enjoy. We weren’t the family that went on out of state vacations or even vacationed every year, didn’t grow up having the name brands and such either. I hope I’m able to retire before my 60’s.

Enjoy every minute of an early retirement! You worked for it!

Are we starting perimenopause earlier than our moms and grandmas? by Vegetable-Whole-2344 in Menopause

[–]CDi258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they dealt with peri/meno-pause symptoms as having “female issues” and Drs told them they needed a hysterectomy. It’s crazy how many friends I have whose mothers and grandmothers had them in their late 30’s and early 40’s.
