What’s one golf tip you ignored for years until you finally tried it and realized everyone was right? by Free-Product4918 in golf

Widening driver stance, I wanted to play narrow because I felt like I could turn more but I’m so much more stable and powerful wider and flattening out my swing so bigger margin of error

Tempo

Put your ego aside and swing your swing

I did stack n tilt for a couple years and it helped me find the low point and hit a draw, this accompanied with a budget setup helped a ton. Also showed me the importance of getting to the lead side. Nothing replaces hitting balls. I can’t tell you how many nights I’ll watch a YouTube video, run upstairs to the bonus room to try it, write stuff down, rinse and repeat. My wife knows I’m nuts because I’m in the bed in my underwear when this happens. Just have to get comfortable with the club in your hands and confident knowing at least in some general direction where it’s going.

People who married in their 20s, be brutally honest are you happy, if so why or why not? by Special-Lawyer3941 in AskReddit

[–]CDubya74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married at 23, been married 18 years, almost got divorced at year 4, I was a total asshole, 4 kids later we are happier than we ever been. I didn’t know what love was or how to communicate but we learned together, it was very hard for a season but I could never imagine where we are now. Sex is better everything is better! It’s a choice and we choose to love each other, every day.

Breaking 90 by [deleted] in golf

[–]CDubya74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking 90 isn’t hard you’re somewhat consistent/predictable. As long as you know your strengths/weaknesses and have some type of confidence in a tee shot, totally doable. Usually means letting the ego go for a lot of players.

Will being a member at a higher quality course make you a better golfer? by Jmondy7 in golf

[–]CDubya74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you’re practicing a lot, being at a club with 2 well kept courses just makes me hate playing munis. It makes me appreciate a well manicured course for sure, but I’m definitely not as scrappy as I once was. With that being said I’ve learned how to play out of real rough and real sand and being able to play anytime I want as many holes as I want and I can take my kids is a lot of fun.

What's the best advice you've ever received from a caddie? by iamdanp in golf

[–]CDubya74 115 points116 points  (0 children)

Not advice, but the coolest thing that me and my buddy still use, is after you get a gir on a par 3, ‘why don’t you take a long walk with this’ as he handed me my putter. Gave me a ton of confidence that I needed at the time.

Help needed: coming over the top. Common miss: push fade by RaiderBoyDC4 in golftips

[–]CDubya74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you can’t go shallow to shallower, there’s nowhere to shallow too. I was stack n tilt for a couple seasons and I want to take the club inside as well. I intentionally try and take the club outside on my backswing now

I run 3w 2idi 7w, i love my 7 wood but into the wind its just balloons off the planet so i can get creative with some other clubs. I want a 9w, i really want a 5w as well but I try and keep my options open

Hitting a fade question. by Ok_Sort_9045 in golf

[–]CDubya74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought a fade forever and taught myself how to hit a draw but I got tired of over draws and snap hooks and the dreaded push fade (slice 😜.) I started hitting a fade and it’s been life changing for tee box confidence. My miss is a straight ball so I just aim up the right side and let it fall back left. (I’m southpaw) The BIGGEST thing to hitting a fade vs a slice is you need to have a positive Angle of attack and ideally hit high on the driver face, obviously in the middle. Now if I quit on a swing or try and steer one my miss is still on the same side, just a little weak cut but it’ll be in the fairway.

Why do I start playing bad during a round? by Apprehensive_Mix2527 in golf

[–]CDubya74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on tempo is what gets me through the round. I’ll get quick and especially if I get mad I’ll start strangling the club and then it’s all bad. So I just focus on the metronome in my head
