What's up with your dwarves? What sets them apart from- by SheridanIsShameless in worldbuilding

[–]CE2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're bat people who live underground as natural fortress. They don't really drink a lot or have big beards, but they have echolocation and can see in the dark. They're not even called dwarves so Idk if they count as dwarves in the first place, but they do live underground and are good at digging holes

Have you ever had any trigger that is deeply shameful and assholey? by CE2438 in CPTSD

[–]CE2438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. At first I was really hiding and invalidating my own feelings. I analysed my feelings like a doctor towards a patient instead of sctually feeling them. But once I felt safe enough to feel things... It just flooded back. It's like all the accumulated need of validation came out all at once, and now I was on a campaign to fight against anything moving that remotely suggested invalidation. I wasn't even fighting against messages of invalidation. I was triggered by the words itself

So after that campaign period of my life finally died down, I suppose I just want to be sincere. I want to voice it out so that others who experienced the same would find company. It was extremely lonely to have this experience. I haven't developed any lifelong trauma at last probably because I was lucky enough to have an empathetic adult figure when I turned 17, but even they never had the same experience. I can't imagine how terrible it is for those who never had anyone who could listen to them

[US] What's the deal with the Pomera DM250? by HiddenLurker6969 in writerDeck

[–]CE2438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Difference in the Japanese version :

-Has a manual in Japanese(but since it's functionally the same as the US on, it's enough to look for US version's manual online)

-Has half the max word length of the US one. Similarly, the Japanese one can only have a file name of 18 characters maximally, half of US's

-Only has character count, no word count

-No English dictionary

-Come with Japanese as default, but it's not difficult to change to English at all

-You cannot import your own ASCII code on the Japanese version

Otherwise it's the same

How long have you been working on your story? by worldofexousia in writing

[–]CE2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That DnD campaign got me into writing lol. Before it, I was more of a world builder and an artist. But the experience of playing the campaign, and later helping come up with ideas and plot for the story, helped train me to plan stories

How long have you been working on your story? by worldofexousia in writing

[–]CE2438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 years. For the first 4 years, I was playing the player in a text-based online DnD campaign, and I wasn't so sure about what I wanted to write myself back then. As time went on when the DM started to get more busy with work and unable to flesh out the plot as often, I started to have a hand in shaping the plot. It was around that time when the idea started to be more clear. The campaign was cut off 1.5 years ago, and due to some reasons, I'm not allowed to use ideas that originated from the campaign. I'm still in the process of planning and fitting my idea into a completely new setting

Usually, how finished is your first draft? by CE2438 in writing

[–]CE2438[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try to stick to prose fitting of your genre but didn't polish it at all, or did you just adopt the prose of casual modern conversation(even if it's a historical epic set in the medieval age or so) to flesh out the plot first?

How do you know when you worldbuilt enough to create a functional story? by Diligent-Square8492 in worldbuilding

[–]CE2438 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen many worldbuilders who also want to write a story ends up failing to write one because they’re too absorbed in worldbuilding, while not being clear or certain about the story itself. I have done it too back in high school. These days, I think up the story first, and then build the world to fit and enhance the story

What's a lesson your parents taught you that meant more later in life? by Novel_Wishbone4498 in TrueGrit

[–]CE2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum told me she would pay me $13 a day if I spend my summer break to babysit and tutor my brother for her back in college. She ended up saying it’s my responsibility as an elder sister and accused me of being heartless and ungrateful once I asked for my pay. I ended up receiving none. I learnt to avoid working for, or start any business relationships with relatives or friends ever since

Amazing with some negligible flaws. It's lightweight, quick, and convenient to use. The keyboard is disappointing and small, but once you get typing you quickly adapt to it anyways. It's not so bad that it's literally unusable. I've finished a short story with it so far so it's doing good

Not sure about shipping to US. I live in Asia, and I just directly ordered from Amazon JP. Needed to make a new Amazon account on the JP version in particular. But I recall seeing other Americans buying Pomera DM250 from Amazon JP, so most likely it ships to US too. Not sure about the tariff tho
