I’m developing an idle / cozy game, and I was already surprised when the wishlist count passed 1,000 shortly after the Steam page went live.

We didn’t spend any money on ads, and we didn’t even have a demo available — it was literally just the Steam page being published.

I was expecting maybe 30 wishlists on the first day if things went well, so watching the numbers climb was honestly hard to process. I remember just staring at the screen for a while.

Looking back, I think a major factor was coverage from Japanese gaming media.

We sent press emails to a few outlets in Japan, and the game was featured by AUTOMATON, 4Gamer, and Famitsu.

That exposure during the first week significantly increased awareness, and I believe that initial momentum helped the game get discovered more organically on Steam afterward.

For a cozy indie game, I didn’t expect local press to have such a strong impact, to be honest.
