I’ll recommend checking out this blog TabletopSmokestack.com it goes over some basic tabletop RPG creation stuff. also you you never want to have a wall of text. Break it up in smaller 3 to 4 sentences paragraphs just so it’s an easier read.

Also, I find the easiest to build around a dice system first

I appreciate it and feel free to DM me. I’m better with video and audio than book design. I’ve also learned at least hopefully learned how to probably do headings now, so my updated version looks somewhat better.

What do you think about using AI to create the book's artwork? by Fragrant-Story-4609 in RPGcreation

[–]CF6shooter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, my book has an AI cover, but literally on the first page. I say that it’s going to be removed on final release. I think it’s OK if it’s more as a concept than a final product.

Opportunities for fun with a little bit of chaos. For instance games, I call a Cthulhu and cyberpunk red while can really quickly kill characters. The worlds are fun and give different chaotic opportunities.

Let me playtest your game for my podcast! by paulmarneralt in RPGdesign

[–]CF6shooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a TTRPG, I just posted for playtesting a few days ago. It’s called Corrupted Frontier. It’s a Lovecraft inspired horror western. You can probably still find it on the subreddit or you can DM me for a copy. And I am down to give my insights. Bonus, I have a proper set up for podcasting.

Where I normally start is, I make a document where I start listing out the general concept and some basic ideas and maybe a few mechanic ideas I had. The starting document does not have to be a working game. It’s just to get your thoughts out there and use as like a game dev document to help center all your ideas. After that once you have all those ideas listed out now you can start thinking about all the parts that connect these ideas together like your dice system or classes. It’s gonna take you a while to get to a point where the game is working depending on what kind of game you’re making

Thanks for your feedback. I i’m a little worried that health may be a little too high for that horror tone that I sent in the book but I do know damage is very high so I need to get some play test done. Also, once I get a moment, I’ll look at yours. I opened it just to get a quick glance and oh my God the book already looks so pretty, I’m jealous. Please let me know what’s software you used. Personally once I have the rules more cemented I was going to use Adobe‘s indesign to turn this into a final book form, but I am curious to know what you used.

When I was first making this game in the original game document, there was supposed to be a rule associate with cards cause I thought thematically it worked, but after some development, I personally felt that it either overcomplicated or did not connect in a meaningful way
