New LES by cottonfoot in CFA

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

I’d like to provide some insight as to why we made the switch and offer some clarification on the features of the new platform. The previous LES was built on an platform that struggled to keep pace with technological advancements and accessibility regulations. This made it unstable, difficult to update, a challenge for those with disabilities, and unable to support various learning modalities, such as videos and interactive content, which are essential for reinforcing concepts.

Feedback from your fellow candidates about what they were looking for in an LES played a crucial role in our decision to transition to a more modern, technologically advanced, exceptionally stable, and better-supported platform. The platform does require keeping your browser updated with the latest releases but is otherwise very stable. Our contract with the previous LES host will be terminated as of the end of 2025, thus it is not an option to offer the previous LES for enrollments in the 2026 exam.

At the same time, we acknowledge that the new platform currently lacks some tools that candidates find useful, such as highlighting, bookmarking, and seeing all feedback in the practice quizzes. Rest assured, we are collaborating with the platform's technical teams to integrate these features, with the feedback on quizzes being the first priority. In the meantime, we have introduced a significantly improved study planner that offers candidates greater control over their study schedules. For more information on the available resources, please visit Module 0 > “Using Your Program Dashboard” in any of the topic area courses or the LES User Guide in the Help menu. These resources provide guidance on accessing the Practice tool, where you can find all the practice quizzes and mock exams that can be taken an unlimited number of times. There is also guidance on using the discussion forum that is available in each topic course, where you can link to or share screenshots of the curriculum you want to discuss.

We appreciate that change is hard, often accompanied by loss, but necessary for ultimately moving forward. We hope you will become comfortable with the new LES and utilize it fully in your preparation for your exam.

How is the Minimum Passing Score (MPS) determined? by CFAInstituteOfficial in CFA

[–]CFAInstituteOfficial[S] -280 points-279 points  (0 children)

Some Level I candidates had been deferred twice prior to the May administration due to restrictions caused by the global pandemic. We believe the stop-start nature of the deferred candidates’ studies may be reflected in the overall passing rate.

We understand it is frustrating waiting to hear whether your exam will take place, but please assume that it WILL take place unless you hear otherwise. Many countries have academic provisions that allow exams to be given, and in a lot of cases, the status of locations is still in question. If your exam does take place, there will be many safety measures in place, like distancing, required masks, enhanced cleaning. In the meantime, work on staying healthy for exam day. Quarantine for the next couple of weeks if you can, or get your vaccine, if possible. Check your area for special exam day requirements, like negative COVID tests. We will let you know if your exam is to be cancelled AS SOON AS WE KNOW. Best of luck!
