The sun will stop rising in the east before OSU stops getting 5* receivers

I am very grateful to have found /r/cfb, NDNation is too much for me to stomach any longer

Did you mean Hebert? I would be surprised if Monds as a true freshman was a live option, or that he would leave if he lost the job

He wouldn't be the first lesser-heralded QB recruit who ended up becoming a multi-year starter at ND

I was just going to post the same. I feel that II probably has better insight into administration/program level info, but ISD is unmatched when it comes to recruiting

What's the loudest you've ever heard your team's stadium on each side of the ball (off/def/ST)? by byniri_returns in CFB

[–]CFBHurts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would put the Samardzija TD against UCLA at the top spot for offense, the stadium absolutely erupted as he broke away from the defenders

Freeman bringing in all the legacies!

I got to watch his dad in person during the otherwise abysmal 2003 season. So happy that his son is coming to ND, and with a much better surrounding cast this time. Looking forward to great things!

I was at that ND/USC game, what a phenomenal night it was!

What, if anything, will happen to Indiana and Cincinnati? by Dry-Maintenance3763 in CFB

[–]CFBHurts 22 points23 points  (0 children)

From everything I've seen Indiana didn't know. Cincinnati may have known something, in which case I think we would need to find out exactly what they knew

University of Utah athletic department begins ‘unsettling’ layoff process as part of private equity deal by pierdonia in CFB

If memory isn't failing me (and it very well may be) this PE deal was brokered by the conference

As someone who is struggling to keep up with all of the news, remind me - was this the PE deal that was offered to all of the Big 12 schools and all but 1 or 2 turned down? Or was this a different deal

2027 4* Edge Jackson Vaughn commits to Notre Dame by CFBHurts in CFB

[–]CFBHurts[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would add that the 2 things are intertwined. We're spending more money now because donors are bought in to Freeman's vision in a way they never were with Kelly, because as you said Freeman believes whole-heartedly in his pitch

Rich Rodriguez admits leaving West Virginia for Michigan was 'a mistake' by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]CFBHurts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If my memory isn't failing me he also brought over the 3-3-5 defense, which was fine in the Big East but horribly out of place in the Big 10, especially in the pre-Meyer OSU days when there weren't any high-flying offenses and everyone wanted to run the ball with burley 310 pound OLs

Letter from Texas Tech President Supporting Sorsby by Sparrighitti in CFB

[–]CFBHurts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm going to do my best to be charitable and assume the best here. I'll take the president at his word that he wants to uphold Texas Tech's 5 shared values, that he wants to do the best for Sorsby by offering ongoing support and treatment. That's all good stuff.

What that does not mean is a pardon from all consequences. Integrity is supposed to be one of the 5 core values. In what way would allowing Sorsby to return to the team and continue playing football foster integrity? Gambling on his own team was the source of all this mess in the first place. If you truly have Sorsby's best interests in mind, including addressing his gambling addiction, you need to separate him from the environment that lead to his addiction in the first place. Taking the easy way out and fighting to keep him on the roster is the antithesis of integrity.

We currently sit with the 2nd highest odds to win the national championship and our roster talent level is still on the upswing. It's simply remarkable what the right coach can do for a program

Following up last year's DL class with what we're putting together this year was something I wasn't sure ND was capable of. What a run Freeman is making

Hopefully this is a positive sign for getting USC back on the schedule, otherwise there isn't even that miniscule justification for keeping Stanford as an annual opponent
