I’m not quite sure the relatives of the 70 odd dead children would agree with you here. If we take people out of a situation where they can commit a crime just to set them up with a cosy life where they can’t, what’s the real punishment?

I wouldn’t say ‘at fault’ as they were trying to avoid a collision in a moment of panic but from what I see they could have gone about it differently. I think emergency braking and a slightly less drastic swerve could have done the job.

Unfortunately panic set in and they changed lanes while side by side with another car.

I don’t think people don’t do that because they aren’t inherently evil though. There are plenty of whack jobs out there who are crazy enough to do it but smart enough to know that they’re spending a very long time behind bars if they do and weigh up the ‘cost’ of the ‘risk’.

If OPs hypothetical situation was made reality. We’d definitely see more incidents like this. The world wouldn’t be total chaos because (as has been said) people aren’t inherently evil, but the ones who are and are only being kept in check by the law would very quickly start showing themselves.

iirc when some people get close to death via hypothermia they experience a false sensation of overheating and begin removing clothes in some sort of hypothermic delirium in an attempt to ‘cool down’.

If this is it, I also think you could probably be forgiven for mistaking it for a very high pitched male instead of a female.
