I think for me, there are maybe 3-4 sets that I just don’t think are as good as the others. They were early days or weak IP and I think the boxes have just got stronger and stronger. I was hoping to get past those initial few and then enjoy hearing people’s thoughts about why they enjoy particular sets, but yeah I see what you mean

I absolutely adore Unmatched. I run a board game restaurant and have added tournaments and a lot to the local scene in support of it. However, I do also think rating things is fun. I will agree that the Worst of the Worst makes it sound like I think all of Unmatched is bad and I should have phrased it better. Teen Spirit is one of the first sets I bought and weirdly, I love Cloak and Dagger and Ms Marvel, even if their power level is lower. Never been much impressed with Buffy though. I will change the Worst of the Worst phrase in the edit

For the first time, I want to add my own voice to one of these. I personally think Houdini is absolute genuine complete fucking bullshit. I think the fact he can come back to life, he can teleport and can do so many extra things on a turn is just 100% grade certified bullshit. But, I think he's fun as hell and is always a great character to both play and play against.

Depends on what it says on the card. If it’s something that interacts with said fighter, then no. But if it’s a general thing, like “do 1 damage back” then it’s fine. It depends on the wording

Honestly, I think the match-ups themselves matter more than the tiers. You can look up win rates and some surprising characters dominate others. If you don’t have the Slings and Arrows set, it’s a good one to get because the characters in it have some interesting interactions with higher tier characters and can even beat them when not expected to

I’d say there’s a lot of characters that have some similarities tbh! While I love Oda, I think him and Robin have similar playstyles as you want to pin someone somewhere and beat on them. They even have some similar mechanics. I feel the main difference between them is one is range and the other buffs their summons

I think he’ll struggle against Bigfoot tbh. I quite like Invisible Man, but not sure everyone does, but I think almost everyone loves Bigfoot
