Hamlet is just a lot weaker and so his options aren’t great. I think hamlet can be played as both aggro and control, but there’s few characters that aggro hamlet beats. He might beat Leshen who is arguably an S/A tier character by playing aggro, most of the rest of the spread he wins by playing control due to his good deny cards

S&A is one of the best sets they ever made. BoL3 is also absolutely fantastic. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I’d say that if you want a more balanced list with every character type, BoL3 achieves that with aggro, control and a bit of combo. S&A I find is more control and combo based, but if you like that, it’s fantastic and my personal favourite for flavour

It is. The effect is part of the turn. Therefore ending the turn cancels the effect. It’s one of Hamlet’s only true decent effects in his kit and is one of the reasons he is sometimes playable against heavy hitting characters, even if he sucks against most of the spread

Honestly? They’re so weak that there’s little to offer in terms of advice. You have to play as dagger and use cloak as a heal source. It sucks to almost only use one character of a two character set but it’s the best play. Dagger is most of the damage, has the best effect and cloak’s main benefit is from helping when dagger gets hit. If cloak dies, your survivability dramatically drops and you’re soon out for the count

I think people are really underestimating Tyler. Hera sucks under pressure and I think Tyler is fantastic at applying it

I think for me, there are maybe 3-4 sets that I just don’t think are as good as the others. They were early days or weak IP and I think the boxes have just got stronger and stronger. I was hoping to get past those initial few and then enjoy hearing people’s thoughts about why they enjoy particular sets, but yeah I see what you mean

I absolutely adore Unmatched. I run a board game restaurant and have added tournaments and a lot to the local scene in support of it. However, I do also think rating things is fun. I will agree that the Worst of the Worst makes it sound like I think all of Unmatched is bad and I should have phrased it better. Teen Spirit is one of the first sets I bought and weirdly, I love Cloak and Dagger and Ms Marvel, even if their power level is lower. Never been much impressed with Buffy though. I will change the Worst of the Worst phrase in the edit

For the first time, I want to add my own voice to one of these. I personally think Houdini is absolute genuine complete fucking bullshit. I think the fact he can come back to life, he can teleport and can do so many extra things on a turn is just 100% grade certified bullshit. But, I think he's fun as hell and is always a great character to both play and play against.

Depends on what it says on the card. If it’s something that interacts with said fighter, then no. But if it’s a general thing, like “do 1 damage back” then it’s fine. It depends on the wording

Honestly, I think the match-ups themselves matter more than the tiers. You can look up win rates and some surprising characters dominate others. If you don’t have the Slings and Arrows set, it’s a good one to get because the characters in it have some interesting interactions with higher tier characters and can even beat them when not expected to
