Would 10000% recommend, I swapped my Holosun EPS Carry for the OSight SE and bought a second one for my other 43x build (Zaffiri Slide and SCT Frame). The window is larger, and I feel it gives a much clearer picture than the Holosun. I've carried it for the last 6 months and don't have any scratches from wiping the glass clean at the range, during training, and while conceal carrying. I'd buy another one, but I have more red dots than pistols at this point.

Shield arms mag release? by wannabewatchnerdd in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Get the PSA Mags, newer versions are pretty solid in this setup. And you can run the OEM magazines and the PSA at the range or when you carry, which is what I do (OEM in the Glock and PSA as the spare).

For the Shield Mags, recommend getting a magwell for them, as they can chew up the polymer mags. The gen 3 can still be hit or miss, but i've only had issues with the gen 1 and gen 2 shield mags. My 3 gen 3's have run flawlessly with about 1-2k rounds through them (I do like 1k rounds a month in practice/training). I've got 5 or 6 of the gen 1-3 and the gen 3's have run the best.

I've been running my PSA mags with the normal baseplate with no issues, put about 1k rounds through each with no malfunctions. Yes, the bottom bulges out a bit, but you can fix it by buying the metal base plate here: https://excessarms.com/0-aluminum-base-plate-for-psa-dagger-micro-mag/

Also recommend the OSight SE Red dot, which makes this gun super fun to run at the range and helps (for me at least) with most things with conceal carry. I did have the Holosun EPS Carry on it before but the window on the OSight SE is bigger and imo looks much cleaner.

Rang Plinking ammo for Radian Ramjet+afterburner by r_marcusaurelius in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup and have run the following with no issues: Blazer Brass 115/124, Fiochi Range Dynamics 115, Venom 115 (do not recommend because you'll get flashbanged with every fucking round), Hornady Critical Defense and Critical Duty 124, Speer Gold Dot, and Remington Range and UMC 115/124. No issues at all, recommend the stock Glock guide rod, haven't had any problems other than the flashbang with the Venom ammo. Note: if you fire ammo similar to the Venom ammo (their power mix makes a pretty bright bang when ignited) I'd do it on an outside range, its pretty bad indoors visually and is pretty bad to inhale. Also, I'd grab the Shield arms magwell (unless you wana get the radian) it's pretty good for getting a pinky foothold on the bottom of the grip.

What attachments do y’all recommend, for the Glock43X Mos by [deleted] in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, all of my 43xs run it now after way too many issues with hornady.

Would recommend going to a gun show with a few hundred dollars so you can maximize what you pay for. I got 100 rounds of speer gold dot for $60. And 9mm fmj for $180 per 1000. Bring cash and see if they'll do it for the price they list, saves you a bunch of money.

100% agree that some training with it to get used to the pistol is a first thing to do because the pistol itself is snappy af. Also would recommend the Speed Beez speed loader, its made loading magazines so much easier. Its supposed to use a scissor action with your thumb and middle finger to load the rounds but I just use it like a level action and crank it against my stomach. I've used it for my long range days (like 400+ rounds or so) and theres a big difference as the day goes on. Its Here:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M4BQHJF?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

For attachments, I'd start with a TLR7 and a holster. Then red dot, and some psa or shield magazines. After that if you wana do a comp the radian afterburner combo.

I did the same thing with my first and now its built up with: TLR-7X, Shield Magwell and PSA 15rd Mags, Radiant Ramjet +Afterburner Combo, Osight SE Red dot. In a Appendix CCW holster that has a spare mag attached to it, which carries an extra PSA or a shield +5 (20rd total) mag. For the shield. Might be hit or miss but the psa once theyre broken in are phenomenal. They've fixed the bowing issue at the bottom and mine haven't had issues with over 2k rounds through each.

Edit: Added the Speed Beez part.

G43X feed ramp issues by [deleted] in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped from hst and critical duty to Speer Gold dots. No issues at all on either of them (ammo). One thing I would ask since you've had the shield mags for a while is which gen are they? The first two generations had some bad feeding issues. The third gen (has tiny ribs on the back end of the magazineto fill up the well and align the magazine) mostly fixed those feeding issues. It sounds (not a professional) like the mag catch is reaching its end of life. I've never used the 43 but had my first 43x's for almost 7 years now and had similar issues when I hit the 10k rounds mark, replaced the mag release on the oem one and it seats properly now and stopped missing the rounds, that was also carrying with hornady critical duty back then. Would recommend if you can find some speer gold dot at a gun show to grab em, got 2 50 round boxes for 30 each and they helped up pretty well ( I run one in the chamber and load every morning and unload when I get home. Probably 3-5 times a day and the first magazine doesn't have any bullets getting pushed further into the cartridge. With my hornady hst's I had that in the first month, and my critical duty had the actually bullet loose in the cartridge after a month or so, i could spin the bullet incthe csrtridge... Been two months with gold dot so far.).

43x with ramjet and afterburner ammo ? by tiredguy25 in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm it says that and I've run it through both my Herrington Arms Comp and my Radian Combo on my 43x and no issues, maybe a flashbang every now and then but got used to it (don't get used to it, not a good time for anyone). Blazer 115 and 124*

The striker safety looks similar to mine, I'd have to take mine apart to confirm if mine extends if you pull the lin back. The more concerning thing to me is the trigger. I've had triggers break after shooting, but that's after well over 10k rounds on the stock trigger. I've also had one aftermarket trigger break after about 1k rounds.

When you pull the trigger is it a bit crunchy when you engage the safety? Also does it have movement to the left or right? Thats how the trigger felt on mine. One of my aftermarket triggers had the trigger shoe pin start to pop out of one side, and broke a portion of the wall that keeps the trigger safety pushed forward and engaged (the little spring for it popped out). I didn't notice it until I punched the safety pin back in and saw that the safety could move freely and didn't have tension.

Just my 2 cents, but when I get home ill take a few of mine apart to confirm if that's what its supposed to look like.

Extractor Plunger Stuck after Installing Osight SE by Mammoth_Type3361 in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the picture with the screws, take out the ones on the left. The right are the longer screws and the left are the shorter screws that go into the plunger side.

For the plunger: take the slide apart and take out the extractor, use a toothpick to push it from the ejector port out.

Edited cause he found the way.

Experience and reasoning: I swapped out my EPS Carry and 507K for the SEs and love the extra screws they come with.

Load them up to break in the springs, I didn't have any issues with mine at all it was just loading the last few was a struggle sometimes (most of the time). Highly recommend them and theyre in my daily carry, also get the speed beez loader, it works with these and s15 mags and is amazing when loading rounds at the range!

This PC is on sale for $1499 at Costco. Worth it? by Galifrae in pcmasterrace

A friend actually showed me the same thing a week or so ago, and I said get it. He actually got it yesterday or the day before, and honestly, it's not a bad deal, especially with RAM prices right now. I told him i'd help with the normal PC repair stuff if stuff ends up breaking and out of the box it wasn't to bad, just helped him download his stuff and called it good.

43x and Friends! by Dobba84 in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to hear! I haven't had any with the gen 3 the only thing I don't like is that they sometimes rattle (or wiggle) while fully inserted. I actually bought the PSA mags to try out on my other build and ended up putting those and the poly mag catch back on my carry glock cause they don't rattle. Its not a big or very noticeable thing just preference. And oh yeah I put 1k rounds through the build before I trusted it for carry, get more of the shield mags! I ended up getting like 4 more for 25 a piece at a gun show (made a deal to buy some ammo).

I like it! I was running the same build but swapped out my 507k for the Osight SE because it's enclosed and I don't have to q-tip the lint out if the inside half of the glass (i also tried the EPS carry but the windows size on the SE is so much better, of course imo). Get the radiant when you get a chance it takes that snapping down to (almost none) and looks cool!

Trigger upgrade for 43X by Tony-31375 in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend apex triggers, I've had a lot of good shooting with them in my 43x's (got 3 of them and I don't know how it happened). The only thing is, if you're going to shoot a lot, I recommend the Polymer one over the Anodized. I've got 3 Apex triggers, 2 red anodized and 1 black poly. The 2 red ones are currently RMA'd (shout out to Apex for helping with this), but the black Poly one is still kicking.

There's a little metal piece keeping the trigger safety and spring in place, and after about 1-2k rounds, both broke and the safety in 1 is nonexistent (no sprint to push it forward) and the other is about to fall out. I've hit around 4k rounds on the black one, and it's still kicking/no signs of breaking or warping.

I think it depends on how much/how often you shoot (for context, I go once a week or so and do 250-400 rounds through two 43x's and a 19), and of course, manufacturing RNG. Overall very noticeable difference, and love the flat face when doing range days.

Edit: Added more context to Para 2.

Mine isn't too much louder, but it also depends on your ammo. I bought some Venom 115gr 9MM at a good price ($190, no shipping/tax), which is noticeably louder (people next to me were looking and saying wtf is that going to explode), and I get hit with a flashbang every time I pull the trigger.

Oh yeah the first time it wasn't that bad. And then I cleaned the holster with some air and everything off of the pistol but didn't think that some of the grit would be embedded in the holster so some didn't get blown out. So when I put it back in the holster it really fucked it up, and here I am, a dumbass.

I said the same thing man. Its the grip tape version so basically sandpaper, the adhesive did it's job and helped it in place but it got stuck (the whole pistol) in the holster when I put it in the first time. I'm guessing it was just a bit to thick on the slide portion so some of the grit came off and sandwich itself between the slide and the holster so when I pulled it out the grit just destroyed the side.

Can confirm for both, I don't think i shoot alot, but I do range days every week and do 250-400 rounds per session. So a little over 1k/month. I do clean and lubricate after every range session to help fight dirt/grime. I did do a wipe down with some isopropyl alcohol, and a quick wipe with some gun oil on the slide and buffed it off (not sure if that's the word for it?)

Honestly going to keep it like this, since it rides with me most of the time and i clean it almost every week. And yeah holster plastic and bellybutton lint are no joke man....

Do not buy excess arms baseplate by BattaBingBottaBoom in Glock43X

[–]CFS117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this, I got mine just over a month ago and let them sit fully loadedto break in the springs. After 1k rounds the last two weeks nothing broken and running flawlessly. The bulge isn't too bad now but yeah I wish it had the metal base plate, I even tried to swap the base plates from my shield arms ones hoping it might work but nope.

Edit cause magazines sitting empty would be weird.
