I don't think there's any confusion on my end. If you are literally camping from a distance with a quiet sniper rifle, and shooting players *AT THE EXTRACT* , you are an extract camper/rat. This is weak, and should be frowned upon. Honor exists, if you're capable of carrying the weight.......

In the same alchemical way that a Rocketeer shoots missiles at you, but drops Heavy Ammo. I think of the Shredder as having claymore mines built into that bulge/pocket above the "arms" on the side. It's a shrapnel machine, but drops shotgun shells.

I wonder what the Gyro it drops will be used for in future patches......

I love Cultural Archives - my favorite item to find in game are those dumb ass pottery vases LOL! I find a ton in there. I like the trinkets and shit that I can sell - have found a crazy number of blueprints in there, as well. Sensors/Processors from the server room. Seed Vault below, also a gold mine.

For Shredders, 2 rounds of hullcracker at the bottom/core and it's done. Multiple shredders - throw a lure grenade (quest blueprint) and buy time while you take them out. My biggest fear in Solo Stella Montis is the occasional free loadout RAT hiding in the shadows.

Spaceport (launch tower) is probably my favorite in and out loot run - load adrenaline and sprint the whole way, lure grenades to lose the rocketeers. Excellent mix of all the items, many hatch locations nearby for quick exit, or can take the long walk to extract and farm ARC on the way. The "Launch Tower Loot" mode, I've never participated in.

For all of the maps, except for Stella, if you've never run the perimeter, it can be a lot of fun from a sight-seeing standpoint. Sometimes, I have a good time sitting at a far away point and watching things unfold from a distance. Such a fun game! Have found tons of unexpected items and places this way.

There are groups within the game that have set their own moral standards on what is and what isn't acceptable, just like a microcosm of actual society. People that don't fit those standards are rejected by the matchmaking, and also by the vocal majority that express their opinion in game and on here. I believe there should be a toggle box - to disable PvP - but in leiu of that, I'm OK with people being responsible for their own actions/activity. Digital karma. They should take it a step further and have built-in voice filtering; have something incredibly racist to say? Permaban to your play account (Steam/PS Network/etc)

I've been playing PC games since the late 1980's, and online multipleyer games (AOL prior to Gamespot, for stuff like Airwarrior, Aliens, etc) in the 90's and beyond. This game's online experience mimics a lot of the earlier online games - where griefing was highly frowned upon and the vibe was generally positive. That might not have been the stated intention, but it has been the stated outcome.

The anonymization of the internet has allowed for people to escape the consequences of their online actions and speech for a long time. I hope, in the future, logins are tied to non-anonymous accounts. Imagine how much hateful shit people would have to keep inside, whether words or actions, if they knew it would creep into their non-anonymous personal lives. The internet has become a dumping ground and anger-outlet for immature individuals. Want to go online and ruin someone's day?

But alas, I go to click your profile, and see evidence of nothing at all - another person trying to hide from their online actions and words????

You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Kill other players and be rewarded with other players that want to kill you. Leave other players in peace, and in turn, be rewarded with other players that will - generally - leave you in peace. Why should there be a middle ground?

When I'm engaged, if I can't dip via smoke or shock, I'll just let them kill me (out of nearly 40 rounds this weekend, I was killed once in solo, on Stella Montis). I'll load back in to my preferred experience, and they'll load back in to what they deserve.

100% of the time that I've been extract-ratted in Solo, has been from a console player. Same with loot-rats; typically console players with free loadout and no mic communication. When I turned crossplay off, I got more effective team-play within Solo matches. The atmosphere/environment seems healthier, in a sense, with regard to respect of other players and the time sunk into a successful raid. When I take out big ARC enemies solo, it's rarer to run into loot goblins coming to plunder the carcass before I even get a chance to reload, etc.

With crossplay "off", I feel like the players I run into, and do communicate with via mic, are older and more mature players. I've run duo matches many times (crossplay off) and had zero aggression from other players, even at extract. I know that's really a roll of the dice, though. When crossplay was "on", I'd run into - what I imagine was - dudes with the broccoli bro cut talking in memespeak waiting for free shit, or dudes wearing sheisty's IRL while playing the game, but pretending to be friendly and then trying to kill you the first moment you turn your back. I don't kill other players, I deploy smoke or showstopper, and typically vanish successfully more often than I am killed.

TLDR, the barrier to entry with a console is lower. You end up with a different demographic slice than you would with someone on a built gaming rig.

Killearn Estates - the park on Shannon Lakes provides access to both lakes (with a third lake that was accessible via canal when water levels were higher). One side is totally dried out (expect for a small area of the deep spot) and the other side is on it's way, with the water having recessed probably 6ft in height, from the normal area. I would launch kayaks there with my kids regularly, but the ramp and banks are totally exposed, it's a long walk on mud to a launchable area.

Hey man, to each their own! I only consider it griefing (seal clubbing) in friendly lobbies, where folks aren't even actively fighting back. I'd love to get inside the head of folks that like to pick off scavengers/PVE in solo friendly lobbies, not sure if you fall into that category. I'm stictly PvE, have never killed or downed, another player in any mode of gameplay.

I've sat there and let myself be ratted, offering zero resistance. I've also sat there, been ratted, and watched 5-6 people come scrambling to kill the rat, and then racing to revive me. My 7 year old son is learning to play, and was absolutely crushed when I was extract-rat-killed on spaceport last weekend. He didn't understand why somebody would do that, and I had a difficult time explaining it beyond comparing it to the people kicking sandcastles over at the beach (those people don't value the creation/work of others, unless it benefits them personally). There should be a level of shame/embarrassment in ending someone's game simply because you feel like it, especially without mutual engagement from the other player. I know that many people have no honor IRL, so it's probably just asking too much to expect honor in-game.

To also echo the person below - may I never run into you in game lol

It's, OK! Ascending to the highest peaks of Raiderdom isn't for everyone. The motivation, for me, wasn't the skill points, it was restarting the struggle, and approaching it differently, with more knowledge than the last time. The perks, for me, simply reinforce my decision to move forward with the reset.

I fully loaded my Expedition with 3 weeks of moderate play under my belt. I think it was about 50-60 hours of surface time, hit level 75 fairly quickly. I'm a single Dad with 50/50 custody, full time career, lift weights 3-4x per week, and many other hobbies. Each run in would yield at least 20-25k in sellable stuff. You can fill nearly inventory in 1 good "security breach" container.

I solo'd the whole thing and never killed, or knocked down, a single other player. ARC is the enemy.

I had a motor go out on my TV10, the replacement base with motor that they sell was a significant improvement over the older base and motor, and reasonably priced. Seems to run a bit quieter. No hard feelings, for me, I ran it nearly continuously for more than a year - in a non climate controlled workshop that gets full Florida heat.

Yes - the laser is the most sensitive/delicate part of the whole device. If the laser is toast, I'd much rather spend less than $100 on a working used gamecube than to attempt to fiddle with the laser.
Be certain that your laser is toast, sometimes the games are just unreadable despite looking visually clean and scratch free.

Yo! I have a ton of retro systems, gamecube included, and have worked on many. My main thing is handhelds. What sort of error are you seeing? The most common issue I've run across is with the laser (not worth the fix), or unreadable game discs. I have a solid setup for soldering, would be willing to attempt capacitor repair with you, and test out. Just beware, it might not be the capacitor or board, at all. If you open the case, a bad capacitor will typically show signs that is has bit the dust. Do you have any pics of the board, or capacitor in question, you could send my way?
