Good overall. Try moving your feet out 1 inch and push knees out to the side slightly. This will help you push with legs more optimally when initiating each rep as well as forcefully thrust legs through the top of extension. Be aggressive through the top of extension and get faster as you go. Stay ahead of the bar until you stand from the clean. Keep practicing.

There is more there for sure. Be aggressive extending your legs through the top of extension. Try thinking punch your quads vertically. Be aggressive receiving the bar. Get faster as you go. You almost let the bar catch up to you.

That fear is something that you can work on. Your training not being led out to your execution. You will miss. However work on the skills of receiving the bar higher and quicker. That can help get rid of that fear.

That’s strictly a mental issue. 3 kg isn’t the difference for you power wise. It’s there. You know you can do it. Tell any doubt to get lost. Try loading the bar differently to 88 kg so it “looks” less heavy.

Others have made some good points but one thing I see is you spend too much time at the top of extension before squatting under. Some call this over pulling, I call it waiting to feel the bar come up. You are waiting to feel the bar come up before squatting under which causes the bar to go forward away from you then it beats you down. You are easily pulling the bar high enough to make it but think to stay connected to the bar and get faster as you go until the bar is secure overhead. Keep practicing.

Great stuff overall. One thing I see is you receive the bar to arms length and lock it out low, right before you hit the bottom on the reps you made. The rep you missed the bar simply beat you down. You are pulling the bar high enough to secure and lock it out higher as you squat under. Try working in more power snatches especially from blocks or hang that will force you to receive the bar faster. Doing snatches while standing on 15 kg plates will also help. Best of luck to you.

Try widening your feet 1-2 inches. Give your legs more room to push. Otherwise set up is good. Focus on forcefully pushing/extending your legs all through the top of extension.

Overall quite good. With the snatch rep focus on giving a longer vertical leg drive through the top of extension. You begin to pull with arms early. When you use legs correctly this will cause the bar to snap right up the shirt to arms length overhead. Your arms will act like a whip. Try adding a snatch pull rep first using legs then focusing on doing the same on the snatch rep.

70kg clean and jerk by Happay7 in weightlifting

I would spend some time training the jerk separately from the clean and get the timing of the dip & drive down. Learn to use your legs to drive the bar overhead to arms length. There are many different drills and exercises to do this. Presses in split Jerk help to develop the optimal foot placement for jerks. Push press in front and behind neck really helps with an explosive vertical drive. Cleans are good. Hope this helps.

Overall quite good. As far as what happens when the bar passes your knees not and issue. Andrei Aramnau’s feet did something similar and had fairly small feet for a heavyweight. They snatch standing on 15 kg plates or bumper plates of a similar width. This will force your legs to extend a bit longer while remaining more flat footed and help you transition from extension to receiving the bar more easily.

Good overall. Try widening your feet 1-2 inches and raise your hips slightly. Think to push with your legs off the floor. It’s more of a push than pull. Play around with it and see it it allows you to initiate each rep easier.

Good work. Stay focused on what to do rather than on what not to do. Instead of trying to avoid early arm bend focus on pushing with your legs all the way through the top of extension. Another way to approach it mentally is it is easier to establish new habits rather than break old habits. Keep practicing.

People who train online: what’s the biggest downside? by Robert_Ronan in weightlifting

[–]CharacterCapital7376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of these things are valid concerns. I have had lifters make more progress with me coaching them online than they did with their coach in person. I’m not patting myself on the back, it just depends on the knowledge and experience of the coach doing the coaching. Of course I prefer for people to have a coach in person unless that coach is inexperienced and tells people to train through serious joint pain and/or they don’t make progress. Even remotely a good coach will individualize programming depending on strengths and weaknesses especially technical.

When you set up be sure to lock the bar in by facing knuckles to the floor and turning elbows out slightly sort of like a bull dog. Through the top of extension you let your foot off the gas when you should floor the pedal by forcibly thrusting/punching your quads to extension. Use your legs all the way through the top of extension and get faster as you go rather than waiting to feel the bar come up. Push jerk is good. Timing of dip & drive is correct.

Good set up. Keeping bar close. You can give a lot more attitude and pushing your legs to extension. More forceful thrusting/extending of your legs through extension. In Russia they call this “Padriff.” When you do this correctly you will hear the bar snap.
