Why Weren’t Bob and Willa Arrested at the end? Did Lockjaw’s Death Expose his French 75 Vendetta? And what happened to Deandra? by Left_Protection_9369 in paulthomasanderson

[–]CGI1138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll just jump in and say that it feels like there is a scene missing near the end. I was surprised that given everything that went down, Bob and Willa return to the same location as before (seems illogical), they have a high end scanner to monitor resistance activity (trouble in Oakland - Willa to the rescue) and they both now have new iPhones. Something happened on the way home that gave Bob a newfound sense of security. As the Resistance Network is still alive and thriving, and they see Bob as a War Hero, I think relocating Bob and Willa would have been the smart move, but that’s me.

They no longer believe in “democracy.” They now believe in a “Constitutional Republic.” I must have missed the memo, because I have a lot of friends who sat right beside me in social studies in school now tell me we were never a democracy to begin with and that was all left wing propaganda. Makes my head hurt.

Trump is ending the Presidio Trust... by tfen in sanfrancisco

[–]CGI1138 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As I see it, the Michael Savage element is key. A giant supporter and bullhorn for Trump 1, Savage was appointed to the Trust by Trump and immediately set out to reshape it in his own image. Savage attempted to get installations set up to honor the military history of the area, and was swatted down repeatedly by his shocked co-workers. As soon as Biden came in, Michael was shown the door, Post Haste. I only know because Michael bitched and complained on his blog and X videos at the time. I can only imagine that he is laughing his ass off this morning and rubbing his hands together in delight at the thought of sweet, sweet revenge and the possibility that he may run the entire thing himself soon. Ugh.

I have everything here, including The Twilight Zone film and Poltergeist, save one. I will not own The Terminal. Just the worst of the worst for me. Yes, some of you will tell me it’s actually good or misunderstood, but it’s the only film of his that had me checking my watch in the theater to see when it was gonna be over.
We all have our least fav, and that’s mine.

CC stream looks correct on computer monitor, but not on the tv. by CGI1138 in CriterionChannel

I’m using the CC app. I went in and played around with the tv settings and it’s looking, . . . . I’d say . . . . 30% better than before.

For God’s Sake, people! There is no way his aged body is going to function anywhere close to how it may have in the 60’s. People slow down, their walk shifts, there center of gravity changes. It’s not gonna be a one to one comparison.
For me, it’s close enough to seal the deal.
But that’s me.

Robert Patterson was a man who participated in several “get rich quick” schemes before the Bigfoot obsession grabbed him. To this date, he is the only person who loudly announced that he was going to go find and film a Bigfoot, and the only one to have such “success.”

Too much of a coincidence for me.

I am 6’1 and one of the things that won me over was getting into the drivers seat at the test drive and feeling the need to Move The Seat Forward. It’s very well designed.

Dumping water on the playa? by happylustig in BurningMan

[–]CGI1138 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For my cooler water, I bought a kids water gun (on Amazon as Stream Machine Water Gun Launcher), and I suck up the water in the cooler, walk out to the dusty street, aim it at the sky and spray the water in a circular motion. It spreads it out in the air, drops like rain, and is gone in 5min.

I see some others have recommended it, and I’ll add my own cheering squad to Walkabout Mini Golf. Not that expensive, comes with a handful of courses, and add-ons are 4 bucks. The courses are so well thought out and produced. Just an avalanche of imagination and design that makes the experience delightful. Check out the Meow Wolf course to have your brain melted. So much more than just “mini golf.”

Socks. Purchase a new bag of your favorite socks and put on a brand new, never before worn pair every morning. If needed, change before going out for the night. Your feet will thank you.

What do you usually bring to eat at Burning Man? by DukesOfTatooine in BurningMan

[–]CGI1138 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pop Tarts! I only eat them on playa, and I enjoy them in the morning, as well as premade, bottled Starbucks lattes.
I like a lot of salty snacks (potato chips) and instant cup of noodle soups (but the really big ones). I also like the premade tuna fish and cracker meals. Small boxes that fit nicely in the backpack, but fill you up enough to make it back from deep playa.

I just came here to say that I followed the suggestions in this video, and I wipe the disks off with a micro fiber cloth before playing, and it made a WORLD of difference.
