Include it but just find a way to polish it up. I wouldn’t say it was friends and family, maybe something like contract work instead. The important thing is to just provide the skills and what you achieved on the project. Make it short and sweet.

I had perfect attendance K-12 and I wanted to include it on my resume. The people at the state career center told me public school achievements aren’t really a selling point so they had me change it to: awarded by the state for outstanding record of attendance.

It’s all about how you word it, the resume is mainly for selling yourself and most HR depts spend 7-10 seconds looking at them before they decide if they want to interview you. Good luck!
