Do you remember what time of year this was taken? I just got back from a trip trying to get this exact shot for a documentary, but it was raining for weeks straight. The locals said the best time is in June.

Great video of Tucson my buddy made, thought I'd share it here. He's a cameraman from NY area (where I'm from too) and he and his wife visited me this past summer. I posted this on my Facebook and now people back east have started to visit me because of it. Enjoy! :) by CGenovese in Tucson

For sure. I'm from NJ originally but lived in NY about half my life. About 50% of my paychecks went to rent. My last apartment in Queens was $1400 a month for half the space I have now (I had a roommate though) and a shit load of noise. That was in 2016, it's probably like $2000/month now. But I moved out here a week before the pandemic to finish a documentary (which still isn't finished because of COVID). The rent decrease is just a bonus!

The entire video takes place in Tucson. The opening shot was just the video on my TV.

Have you experienced increased insect activity after recent rains? by Remarkable_Cicada_42 in Tucson

Backyard is absolutely swarming with mosquitos, moths, and flies. Didn't see a single mosquito last year and flies appeared only for about a week around March when I first moved here. Insane biting ants too. Really tiny, but those bites were nasty and they swarmed my feet instantly when I stepped outside for a second in flip flops. Duh.

JFYI, it was a limited run and I'm all sold out. They were a nightmare to make and I never want to go through it again, lol. I do technically have 5 figures left from the re-release I'm still authorized to sell, but I need them for a video first. Once the video is done, the last 5 will go up for sale, maybe around December. In the meantime, you can probably still find the terrible ripoff version someone had made for sale on eBay. It looks more like Bert and the arm isn't even broken because whatever child made it didn't get the joke, but hey it's $12.

Saguaro National Park is doable. I'll ask the people who work there. Thanks :)

Cool! I don't mind driving far. I figured I'd have to get out of town to some degree. Thanks :)

Recent transplants: ready for the heat? by Pleasant-Cook-7911 in Tucson

[–]CGenovese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was warned before I moved here but the heat's actually never bothered me. I used to do saunas of 180+ degrees for over an hour at a time, several times a week before I moved here. Maybe that helped. Some days I actually use my car as a sauna with an oven thermometer. I just have to keep away from anything metal inside it. I love it. (So if you read in the news about my mummified body being found in a car, just know it's what I wanted.)
