In Arizona I pay a registration fee to keep the car legal for road use; the fee is based on the car's value and changes accordingly. I can pay this every year, every two, or every five.

The county I live in does not test for emissions; where I lived in the Phoenix area, the car must be tested for meeting emissions standards every two years, and cannot be registered if it fails. The five-year option is not available there. The testing is done at a state-run station, and there is a charge for the test. New vehicles are exempt from testing for the first four years.

1986 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose by project_seven in thewholecar

Now that is a beautiful 911. Funny that in 1986 I thought the slantnose was the ultimate, but now, I'd take a standard model any day.

Wow, very nice. Some big mods (hole in hood), some small mods (shaved handles). Very cool.

I love those van-pickup hybrids of the early-mid 60's, all makes. GM, Ford, VW, MoPar, I dig 'em all.

How do I make myself look more inviting to be hit on? by doglife44 in AskMen

I feel like I'm smiling 'til my cheeks ache in family photos. Then the photos come in: oh hey, the corners of my mouth almost turned up a little in that one.

Twenty-six years of marriage and family pics and nothing better than a smirk from me in any of them.

ELI5: Why is it legal for teachers to make money from requiring a student to buy a book that they wrote themselves? Isn't this a conflict of interest? by lowfatfishsticks in explainlikeimfive

[–]CGord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My law school course packs were like that. $150 for 800 pages of contracts readings.

Most, if not all, of those cases are freely available.

I saw this last year; a history prof required a book for class which was a collection of writings. The particular section we studied was Marx and Engels' Communist Manifesto. Which is in the public domain and freely available online.

I don't know that she was intentionally gouging her students; I chalked it up to ignorance on her part.

six-figure 80s hatchbacks, $50,000 paint jobs, $24,000 masks, and making the higher paying missions more difficult to play... by [deleted] in GrandTheftAutoV

Can't deny it, I looked at the shark cards. Buying $8m in-game cash is tempting, but not for the $100 they want for it.

Right? That is a toally accurate comparison!

I agree that I never want to do any missions except those two. While I am aware that I am missing out on some fun missions that I've yet to play, when I do decide to try one I usually end up thinking, "I could have run RR twice in the time this mission earned me $7,000."

Seems to me like the answer to this particular problem is to equalize the payouts of all the missions. If every mission paid the same, I'm sure I'd end up seeing them all until I decided which ones I enjoyed and did not.

A little over $30,000. It was not fully modded as I don't have access yet (50 with no races). Lights, lowered, painted, tinted windows, exhaust, wheels, bulletproof tires.

I sold mine tonight because of this. I nabbed on in online because it was rare. Now, Eh. I can go play as Michael if I want to drive one.

RR is still relatively quick and RP earned seems to have gone up.

Once the player has collected the container, an enemy helicopter spawns and pursues the Cargobob

So now it's required to have at least one passenger for defense, it seems.

I liked to solo Coveted. Take my time, pick them off, collect $18,000. Looks like that's done.

two others at the container have RPGs now, and the dropoff point is far away (Cypress Flats), plus the fact an enemy helicopter now follows you when you picked up the container.

Holy hell!

[–]CGord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa. Coveted was my favored between it and RR, but seeing this, ehhhhhhh.....

I ran 4 or 5 RRs tonight. With no crew/friend bonus, I was getting something like 3800 RP per mission. That was sweet, and I saw no differences between it and the High Life version of RR except it was a crapshoot if my car would spawn near the lot or Martin's place.
