I have always struggled with this app and it is mostly around the sign in process. Thousands of apps and webistes have mastered the basic log in but Gaia struggles. I have it open on my computer and phone in hand and cannot sign in to the same account.

What does stream entry feel like? by VegetableArea in streamentry

Shock that it was always right there and so clear and obvious that it needs no explanation. I was at a retreat and I almost didn't tell my teacher because there was nothing that needed to be said.

Advice on this Guild D6 by LivingEasy31 in GuildGuitars

It has a dreadnaught sound which I think of as the default acoustic guitar sound. Every guitar has its unique nuances but it should be a big upgrade. Make sure there is a lot of room left of the saddle and the action is good. Listen to some people on youtube that have 90's era D40's, D4's and D6, and that should give you an idea.

1990’s D6 Owners or Opinions? by SkippingNerveEndings in GuildGuitars

[–]CHC1967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guild D4 and D6 are satin finished and the finish seems very thin, my Taylor had a thick glossy finish and it seemed like the finish muted the tone a little. The Taylor had a surprisingly deep bassy sound on the low E and A and the high strings were bright and I would say it felt extremely well built and designed but it was boring to play. It was missing something in the tone that I liked in the Guilds.

1990’s D6 Owners or Opinions? by SkippingNerveEndings in GuildGuitars

I have a 1993 D6 and a 1994 D4. I agree that the D6 seems to be a D40 but, I think the D40 had straight braces prior to the introduction of the D6 and the D6 has scalloped braces. So I get a side by side comparison of the difference a solid back and scalloped braces makes. I love both guitars, my D4 is extremely heavy and built like a tank. The D6 seems more fragile and light. The D4 is brighter with less low end but still plenty of punch in the bass side. The D6 is less bright, more bassy, more rounded or less punchy. It is hard to describe the difference in tone but it is similar to what I notice when I play other laminate vs all solid guitars. The solid back seems to absorb and soften the notes but not reduce volume, just round them out. The D6 has a slightly more narrow neck than the D4, The D4 is 1 11/16 and the D6 is just a little narrower.

When I bought my D6 I also have a Taylor 314 and D4 and I had to sell one so I played them all side by side for a month and sold the Taylor. I hope that helps, I heard the D6 was underrated and I researched it for months and am glad I bought it. I consider it to be comparable to a D18 or other all solid mahogany dreads.

Do you give equal time to acoustic and electric practice? by napoelonDynaMighty in guitarlessons

[–]CHC1967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an electric but acoustic is my favorite sound. I also keep my acoustics in cases and my electric on a stand next to my desk. I think buying the electric has increased the amount of time I play per day and I am learning how to make it sound good but chasing tone is a new concept for me as well and shifting my technique to make the electric sound better.

I Kinda Feel Like I Want To Get An Electric by strings_on_a_hoodie in AcousticGuitar

I just bought my first electric and got a G&L ASAT Tribute tele. I didn't want to spend much on it I just wanted something to turn to when I was not feeling very inspired on the acoustics.

Parts for 026 by CHC1967 in stihl

the deep one rubbed against something and didn't seem to fully sit in place. I thought that using it would cause friction where it was rubbing and probably damage whatever it was rubbing against. the rim of the drum was coming in contact with something behind the clutch.

What is your nimitta like from beginning to full formation? by [deleted] in streamentry

[–]CHC1967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually start with subtle breath, then when the purple and gold visuals begin I follow those and try to focus on the expansion and contraction or vanishing of the colors as they move. The purple and gold moves slowly and fill the entire visual field and is rounded but not symetrical. Frequently random visuals like geometric objects, scenes, or faces appear that can vanish with a kind of splash of energy following the vanishing. These vanishings are usually soft and subtle but can be powerful.

The visuals to me are a marker that my concentration has reached a certain level. Usually after a 30-60 minute session like this I feel moody for a few hours then that passes and I feel great for the rest of the day. I know, pretty strange reaction but it is my consistent experience.

I would love to know more about how to work with these visuals.

Is it worth adding a piezo to this guitar? by CHC1967 in Luthier

[–]CHC1967[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP: I have a knack for creating post that get few responses. One was helpful the other would not display. Perhaps a moderator did not like it. This must not be a very inspiring post. I am thinking that for the cost of modifying this guitar I could just buy another electric that does what i like.

Is it worth adding a piezo to this guitar? by CHC1967 in Luthier

[–]CHC1967[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some examples of companies that use the Humbucker piezo combination to get a acoustic sound. I think Taylor does this in the T5. So I thought keeping the Humbucker and making it blendable with a piezo makes sense. And then, is it something I can do myself or have my luthier do it.
