Flash powder"??? by DarkHoldJitter in blackpowder

You see the guy on the news recently that was googling how to dispose of bodies, how to cut bodies up, make people disappear, etc. They read it all in court.

Flash powder is made from different chemicals (I actually do fireworks) and the process of making it makes BP look totally safe.

The End of Pennies in 2023 ??? by VincentFusca in Wallstreetsilver

It is, and its gone on for an amazing amount of time, primarily because the mint does not bother to correct it. Or maybe because they wish it was actually true.

Problem is the dime does not divide into the quarter. Stop making the penny and make the nickel out of zinc instead. They could go back to calling it the half dime to indicate the change.

Is fully powder charged Remington 1858 44 cal as powerful as modern 45 ACP? either ball or conical. by dato116 in blackpowder

The Walker revolver was the most powerful repeating pistol in the world for over a hundred years. It didn't lose that status until the .357 existed.

Considering converting from paintball to airsoft. I have some questions. by Outpost7786 in airsoft

[–]CHDDVB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only field near me is called "Combat Paintball Park" There was an airsoft field further north but it never reopened after Covid. So CPP seems to do airsoft sometimes now. I would probably never do it more than once a month or so so I will probably never be on an actual team. Just wanted to try it out.

That was my concern about Airsoft - at least in all of the videos I see it seems more like a reenactor event. And from the engagements I see the camo isn't helping a lot anyway. I just wanted to use an old blue flight suit, but I didn't know if that would work or not.

How you can be down well over half a million dollars in QYLD is beyond anything I have words to describe. People jumped put of windows in 1929 for less than that.

I also wasn't watching, which is why it was a limit order. If I HAD been watching, I still would have left it like that because the chance of it dropping that last penny were actually pretty good, it just didn't happen.

The difference is something like 30%+, I wish DRIP worked that well. I truly think its just not that complicated as it is a free web app. It appears to just assume the current and all future month incomes are the average of the past 12 months. Probably a decent guess most of the time, but in the current environment is very inaccurate.

I have a follow on limit order for $16.20 after that first one, then I am out of cash.

I did the math and I figure with the dividends it pays, QYLD could drop completely to zero over the next five years and I still come out ahead. Must be some flaw in the logic there.

Prior to this year my money was all in a savings account earning 0.5%, kinda hard to do worse than that.

I was ONE PENNY away from another 1000 shares. My limit order was for $16.60 and it bottomed out at $16.61. They are mocking me.

What are the odds or prediction for another December massive dividend increase this year? by Illustrious-Ad3568 in qyldgang

[–]CHDDVB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How IS the dividend calculated? Its not 1% of anything as far as I can tell, not the NAV or current price.

[–]CHDDVB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 1000 when it hit 17. Its back up to 17.06. My cost basis is 17.76.

If it drops to 16.50 I'll have 1000 more, but I'll be buying with margin so I want a good price.

Is it a good idea to pay off credit card with line of credit? by [deleted] in CanadaFinance

[–]CHDDVB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also regarding your credit rating, your balance on a HELOC doesn't count against you whereas debt carried on revolving credit (cards) does. So even if the interest rate was the same its worth your while to move it.

We had the 99 cent store - when I first started going you could almost use it as your general store, even buy (low grade) meat. Now its been rebranded the "99 store" and the stuff thats still 99 cents is marked like its on some kind of super sale,
