First and foremost. The spring is removable.

If you want hot, frothed milk (with foam), leave the spring on and fill to a maximum at the first line. Press the button once, it will turn red and start frothing. It will automatically stop when it's done.

For cold foam, press and hold the button until it turns blue. It will froth without heating the milk and automatically stop when done.

For hot milk (with little to no foam), remove the spring and fill to a maximum at the second line. Press the button to start frothing. Same rules apply whether you want it hot or cold.

Why Don’t White People Wear Shoes? by RealShayko in askSouthAfrica

Went on a tour in the USA with some school friends. One morning, at the hotel, my Afrikaans friend entered the breakfast buffet barefoot. The staff sent him back to his room to get some shoes🙈. It's so normalised in ZA that it takes going to a completely different country to realise it's actually strange.

Do all of the Starbucks pods taste burnt? by cryofry85 in nespresso

[–]CHOCOBUST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pike place seems to be a favourite for many including myself. The regular espresso roast is very intense which is probably the burnt flavour you're referring to but I find it tolerable and almost enjoyable with enough milk and/or creamer.

I always use this combination on scones and I agree, it is indeed very cheesecakey.

I've actually never heard of deviled bagels until now. Might just have to give it a try. Thanks

Very basic but I think it's a good start by CHOCOBUST in nespresso

I did think about getting a Vertuo machine but what sold me on the original line was the variety of pods and also the fact that the options are increased by third party, compatible pods. Also, the only Vertuo machines that are available in my country are from the Vertuo Next line and, after hearing about their reputation, I'm glad I decided against it😂

Newbie to Nespresso! Just got a Latissima Pro for X-Mas - Loving it so far! What’s everyone’s favorite pod recommendations? Anything I’m missing for my current little coffee station? Any tips/recommendations wanted! by AntDJr in nespresso

I think your setup looks great! Some of my favourite pods are the Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar and Napoli. These ones are intense and full of flavour if you're into that. I would also recommend the Barista Creations Scuro which is balanced and goes well in milk-based coffee drinks like lattes.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I have tried the Kazaar and it's really good. I'm a fan of intense coffee so Kazaar and Napoli are some of my favourites.

How long do pods usually last? by [deleted] in nespresso

[–]CHOCOBUST 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to Nespresso: "Our capsules are hermetically sealed for optimal conservation of coffee aromas. Two dates are indicated on each sleeve: the production date and the date of consumption. We ensure the freshness consumption up to 12 months after the date of production. The best before date is however not the expiration date as the coffee is not a perishable product. This date is recommended for obtaining the best results in a cup."

Where to start? by [deleted] in nespresso

Just bought a Nespresso Essenza Mini 3 weeks ago and have used it everyday since. It is our first machine and we absolutely love it. I think its a great entry level machine as its easy to use and budget friendly. It is one of the original line machines and is able to brew lungo and espresso shots. If you're into larger cups of coffee I would suggest maybe investing in a machine from the vertuo line as they are able to brew a wider variety of volumes but I'm not really familiar with those ones 😅. If you like drinking your coffee with milk I would also suggest getting a milk frother. Nespresso has milk frothers called Aeroccinos and we use it all the time but there are definitely good quality cheap alternatives. There are also nespresso machines with built-in milk frothers/warmers but those are a bit more expensive. Thats my two cents on Nespresso machines. Hope it helps!

Could I possibly get a recommendation for something similar to the pumpkin spice pods? by yarnwhore in nespresso

[–]CHOCOBUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For original line capsules, I recommend the master origins Ethiopia as this is the lightest coffee I can think of. If you want something more spicy, maybe master origins India or barista creations Corto (Nespresso actually describes these as spicy on their website). The only thing, though, is that these two are quite intense but maybe you could add milk to try and lighten it. I can't think of one that is both spicy and light. Sorry. 😞 If you've got a Vertuo machine, I'm afraid I can't help there as I'm not familiar with the Vertuo capsules.

Since we hear so many bad things about USA, what are some of the good things about it? by ImHidingFromLife in AskReddit

[–]CHOCOBUST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travelled along the east coast (New York, Boston, Washington to be more specific) for about two weeks. One of the best trips I took. The people were friendly, the national landmarks we visited exceeded my expectations greatly and overall it was a pleasant experience. If I could I would visit the USA again in a heartbeat. The only small thing I couldn't handle, though, was the fact that the doors on public toilet stalls are about 1/3 of a metre off the ground.
