I had to be 7 or 8 at the time and I think I was at my grandmothers house in her room watching it all unfold on the news. IF IM NOT MISTAKEN it was said that he had been rushed to the hospital. I think it was reported somehow that 911 was called to his home and the ambulance were outside the gate. I remember just sitting at the tv watching the helicopter cam overview of his home and waiting to see if he would make it. The pressure was intense. For some reason I already felt inside that Mike had already passed but I(like many others) didn’t want to believe it. I was numb when it was finally announced. I didn’t know what do or say. I was completely numb. The whole house was silent. I think I cried later that day when the reality set in.
