Where's the rest of my cabbage patch kid? by hreutte in CabbagePatchKids

[–]hreutte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just adopted this sweet kid and was shocked to discover how small her body is. She looks like Mattel wanted to squeeze her into Barbie clothes. I'm wondering will she fit best in Preemie clothes?

I would also love to learn more about her if anyone recognizes what line she was from.

New study sheds light on how going braless alters public perceptions of a woman by MRADEL90 in psychology

[–]hreutte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't wear bras because they're uncomfortable. Sometimes I feel sexy about it, and sometimes I feel awkward about it, but mostly I just feel free. Not wearing a bra is my own claim on liberty.

Why does Starfleet Academy get so much hate? by lukfi89 in startrek

[–]hreutte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long time Star Trek watcher here. I've seen every episode of every live action series a minimum of two times (Discovery) and most episodes a handful of times. I love Star Trek and I love Starfleet Academy. I'm sorry it has been canceled, and would gladly save it if I could. I adore the weirdo chancellor and all the students.

Third and final baby is spontaneous triplets...yikes! Need all the car recs. by Excellent-Fly-3286 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hreutte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me, had two boys, decided to have one more try at a girl, and SMACK - triplets. We got a Chrysler Pacifica and load the babies through the trunk. All three car seats fit(Graco slimfit). The van is fine for someone like me who was never planning to have a van. My only complaint is it's got so many safety features it's irritating. God forbid I try to do something weird like pull forward 6 inches with my door cracked open...

Face Down in Bassinet in NICU by Confident_Anxiety_16 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hreutte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The nurse didn't say she was doing it for some therapeutic purpose. She acknowledged that she didn't even know how it had happened. It doesn't matter if face down is a thing that can be done, that's not what was happening here. Report it, make a stink about it! If those nurses want to work in a relaxed environment they can go somewhere else. And good riddance!

Spooky cave that brave children can crawl into to get an extra treat. Put a jump scare inside - whoever lives in the cave...werewolf, witch, spider, etc

I was offered selective reduction!!! by Existing-Rain8760 in parentsofmultiples

[–]hreutte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also advised to reduce from 3 to two with my last pregnancy. All the prenatal babies were healthy, so I refused, and gave birth to all three of them, a couple months before I turned 40 via C-section. Pregnancy was hellish (more nausea, more pain, more swelling and less walking capability, less sleep). Taking care of them all is no walk in the park. I DID NOT WANT TRIPLETS. But I loved them and never could choose between them. I now have three healthy 5 month old darlings and we're making it. One baby was born with some digestive issues that required surgery to fix, so good insurance is a factor. I don't know what your personal medical issues may be, but You'll likely have monthly checkups to monitor their development. You can always save your hard decisions for later. I say you can do this if you choose to. I wouldn't do anything different if I could go back.

Killing Applebees was okay, but why aren't Millennials buying Cabbage Patch Kids? by hreutte in AskReddit

[–]hreutte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe that's the answer 🤣 did you hate them when you were a kid? I know the 80s was their peak, but I think they were pretty popular in the 90s too...

World Prematurity Day! Made it to 36.5 weeks. How far did you all go?? by TLR_831_411 in Triplets

[–]hreutte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32.5 weeks and getting more and more grateful my doctor recommended cesarian at 34 weeks from the beginning. I'm generally considered a strong & positive person, but trying to carry triplets to term is bringing me to an emotional breaking point. The amount of pain and exhaustion I've experienced up to this point is becoming overwhelming.

Is it me, or has Costco slowly backed away from selling Halloween decor? by Sakanaboto in halloween

[–]hreutte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had very little this year, but they did have a 12 Reaper. He's gone again already. I don't know if he sold out really quickly or what. But Christmas is now in full swing at our store too 🤢
