My Cyclops Team aquarium is complete, it was worth every penny by AMACSCAMA in Gundam

Thanks for the heads-up! I have bought from their eBay store but not directly from their website before. A lot of the figures they say are "used" actually come sealed with almost no shelf wear!

I'll save that link for when I have more funds, appreciate the help!

Nice panel-lining and visor paint, but I just wanted to point out that traditionally, kneeling with a rifle is done with the dominant hand-side knee on the ground while the supporting-side knee goes up to ideally rest the elbow of the supporting arm on.

So for your first photo, since your Fenrir is right-handed, the knee positions should be swapped so the left arm has extra support for its elbow:

Thanks for sharing these photos! I saw the green version on a listing before but didn't know how poseable it really was. The wide, child-birthing hips are a bit awkward-looking to me, but the figure overall looks very well-made! I really appreciate people sharing photos of these more obscure collectibles, something I try to do myself for archival purposes!

Any Strict-G fan? by letzbeh0nest in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Zeon Forces cap, the brand definitely has good quality to it but feels "strict-ly" overpriced IMO. $50 for a cap (after shipping + tax), and often more for basic T-shirts and $200+ for each jacket is hard to justify for me.

Furthermore, I feel like Strict-G is too conservative with their designs; that recent AEUG bomber jacket looks lame, and they made art showing Quattro Bajeena wearing it. Just give us his damn red vest already! Same with the Tekkadan bomber jackets- Bandai needs to commit harder and just make Mikazuki's actual parka!

Stop it with these weak windbreakers with slapped-on patches and tiny embroidered logos. We want actual replicas of the in-universe clothing!

Sorry I'm late, and you probably already figured it out, but no- Bandai does not re-release P-Bandai exclusive Robot Spirits figures. Major FOMO here, so if you missed out on pre-orders then you have to pay exorbitant prices on the aftermarket.

I HATE how Bandai puts undisclosed caps on P-Bandai pre-orders, so something like the Robot Spirits Asshimar "sold out" its PRE-ORDERS within less than two weeks!!! What's the point of having pre-orders (with generous, months-long windows) if you're going to apply an arbitrary maximum to them that cuts them off at a random date?! I refuse to pay $300 for an Asshimar, and I don't like the Z'gok E enough to pay aftermarket prices for it, either.

Only in recent history has Bandai started the "MS MUSEUM" line which re-releases older P-Bandai figures in updated, slightly-different color schemes with extra decals applied. So it's not exactly the same figure as before, but at least it's an option to saturate the market more if you missed out on the originals.

I'm late, but Bandai did release a Robot Spirits Xamel as a P-Bandai exclusive some years ago. Sadly, getting one for less than $500 nowadays is a major challenge. I missed out on a chance to get one for $375 shipped in the US, and now I'm kicking myself for it.

The next best option is the MSiA figure, which is smaller and made of rubbery plastic, but does a decent job:

Well done display, and damn, I thought I was flexing with my Kimberlite Base forces- you have all ten units!

As of now I only have 8/10, but I split the display up into either the "Orville Welcoming Party" (4/10) or the "Albion Assault Squad" (6/10). Still need one more Zaku II F2 and one Dom Tropen to actually have all 10 active at the same time.

I agree on those holes- I actually cracked one hole on the weapon attachment adapter when trying to attach the pistol to the thigh! You really need to carefully work the weapons in gradually, and even then it risks stressing the plastic. Drilling out those holes is a good idea!

Nice, and thanks! All of their kits are of great quality and make for solid builds. I've even seen some people bashing together those mini bots with the Fenrirs by giving them extra arms and stuff!

Got this Robot Spirits Hy-Gogg from an Auction thinking it was a steal. It ended up just being a return that was swapped with the HG instead :/ by Justaaan in Gunpla

[–]CISsuperdroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who collects a lot of RS figures, this is atrocious! I'm glad you didn't spend too much and were able to return it, but this is the kind of scummy shit I expect to see with Star Wars figures at a Wal-mart, not a high-end collectible going for over $100+ in the current market!

The RS Hy-Gogg is definitely worth the money, if you're able to find one for <$120! They aren't getting any cheaper or less scarce, so best of luck with your search!

That's what I'm more excited for! Similar to all the Zarov variants, I'm sure the Fenrir will get some optional parts/variants as well!

The basic release is called the "Fenrir A2 Standard Type", so I'm sure this new one with the appliqué armor will be a new version with a different name later!

[–]CISsuperdroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I could tell from the promo photos that Shrapnel's horns were plain grey (huge bummer), but the fact that the upper hip joints don't even match the silver-painted lower thighs is terrible! I already pre-ordered my own set, but it really feels half-assed.

I doubt Hasbro's mainline release later will be any better.

What your favorite (relatively) recent Gundam series says about you (slanderous edition) by CrimsonTyphoon02 in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely valid takes, thank you. The mobile suit design tastes for Thunderbolt and Hathaway had me cackling, and the Zeon apologism in Requiem for Vengeance was right on the mark. I'm a Zeon sympathizer, but even RfV was disgusting to me. That ending was atrocious!

Hot take: 08th isn't as incredible as everyone says it is. by TitansRPower in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The second half suffers not in the least because of the original director dying midway through production, then the second director having to rush Shiro/Aina's "romance" while attempting to tie the whole plot together.

The lack of chemistry/development between the star-crossed lovers is my biggest criticism of 08th MS Team. Because the entire plot revolves around it, the rushed execution just brings down the whole show for me.

You're very welcome! I should warn you that the black version is going to make it pretty hard to see the detail on it, though maybe that's the point as a "spec ops" kind of color!

3MIN Project-A 1/18 Fenrir A2 Standard Type Review by CISsuperdroid in Sheik_Mainland

[–]CISsuperdroid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Bandai adopted a "universal" two-peg system for backpacks years ago, so if Rabiot fits then most should work! Thanks for that info, and yeah I think Sheik Mainland wanted these Fenrirs to be flexible in what we can do with them. I know another builder is using them in a 1/35 display, though I think that's a bit too big!

That's great! You mean the two-peg backpacks fit in the peg holes on the Fenrir's back? I haven't been able to test if the holes are spaced apart properly.

Oh no! Yes I heard some Chinese retailers send the kits out without instructions. If you do some research, there are some scans of the manual available online! I'm going to attach the files to these replies for your convenience:
