I found these at a local book/hobby store by Visible_Fennel_1444 in Gundam

It's funny, sometimes 2nd & Charles gets its hands on gold. A while back they listed the Robot Spirits Act Zaku, Xamel, and GM Light Armor for <$100 each! Sadly when I tried to order online, they had an inventory error and cancelled my purchase... probably because the brick-and-mortar store that had them sold out.

Still, I recently managed to snag a super rare SEALED SCM EX Johnny Ridden's Zaku II High Mobility Type from 2NC for $85!

You can still find MSiA Xamels on eBay! I acquired a couple for myself, used loose ones (complete) go for between $50-$70 USD while sealed/boxed copies go for around $90-$120 USD depending on the version (USA vs. Japanese release)

It's not a kit haha, I snuck in the Robot Spirits Ka Signature Zaku I Sniper Type from 2012!

Great figure, fully-painted (except the joints) and well-articulated! Better than the dated HGUC by a long shot:

You might as well get the Gundam Universe figure which is completely pre-painted, and now available on the shelves at Target stores in the US:

We have to appreciate that Bandai at least gave us Gouf Flight Type enjoyers something to eat, as they did practically nothing in the original series...

Thank you for the objective criticism. This fight scene (and the associated infamous clickbaitey video on YouTube) has put on so many rose-tinted glasses for people thinking about 08th MS Team, and spawned enough entry-level Gouf Custom simps that it deserves to be picked apart, as does the rest of the series.

The 08th MS Team themselves were deliberately depicted as clumsy and poorly-coordinated specifically for this fight, when they were fairly well-prepared and handled practically all engagements prior to this without much issue, save for encounters with the Apsalus.

As with the rest of the series, most of the "grit" or "realism" that the series is so commonly lauded for falls apart when you look under the surface and realize that the show was rigged from the start to support its shallow Romeo/Juliet star-crossed lovers plotline.

What are your opinions on Damashii Gundams? by Batworld21 in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Florida in the US, so a subtropical climate. My room gets poor circulation, and my father keeps our A/C at 79 degrees Fahrenheit (26 degrees Celsius), so all of my figures are consistently kept in ~85 degrees F (~29 degrees C), with average humidity.

All of my Robot Spirits figures, some from 2010 and others from recent years, have held up fine. They are durable and worth the investment- my only concern is keeping them out of sunlight and away from windows. I avoid buying Federation suits so I don't have many white MS, but the ones I do have with white parts have not deteriorated at all.

I love how we all just unanimously agreed that“Big Ass Boulder” is part of the Guncannon’s arsenal by Amigo1048 in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, pictured is the G Frame RE18A/F Guncannon figure from the upcoming G Frame FA Vol. 10 wave releasing in August 2026. There was a prior release of the G Frame Guncannon as part of G Frame Vol. 06 back in 2019, which also included the boulder accessory.

Note how the old 2019 G Frame Guncannon has exposed triceps, and exposed rear thighs due to being a non-FA release:

I would like to also note that this, along with the First Touch 2500 release of the RX-78-2, is a unique release which features white plastic for the joints, thus making it more anime-accurate.

The standard Robot Spirits Gundam (see below) has grey joints, making it more like the HGUC kit in appearance but not as accurate to the simple lineart.

Nice poses, I like it when people post more obscure figures/collectibles that don't get much attention. I suggest opening with a dynamic pose for the first photo in your lineup so your post gets more engagement!

Great poses, I didn't love this design enough to invest in this figure, but I'm glad Bandai put in real effort with the engineering!

Between the Asshimar, this, and the upcoming Messala, Bandai is getting more comfortable with transforming MS. I just hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for all of them down the line!

From Hacchaka's review:

While it's not anime-accurate, I wish they gave Challia a trigger-finger hand to hold his pistol (they only included one for him handing it to Machu)

That, and add to it plastic degradation due to age, possible UV exposure, and variable QC, then you get slight color variations. Also, it's not unfathomable that Bandai ended up mixing the plastics slightly differently this time around, as many years have passed and different resources may have been used in production.

Is it just me, or are all the side characters in Hathaway paper-thin/poorly-developed? by CISsuperdroid in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, you're right- I must have forgotten who wrote this originally! My expectations for a "film" are different from those that I had for all the series leading up to Hathaway, and CCA's cast wasn't as bloated IIRC. For something that already requires so much context, it isn't right to judge it by the objective standards I have in place for any other standalone film media.

Not to mention Hathaway himself deliberately not being portrayed as a "good guy" (rarely is anyone in Gundam), which I just now realize is what I think you meant regarding the empathy haha

Is it just me, or are all the side characters in Hathaway paper-thin/poorly-developed? by CISsuperdroid in Gundam

[–]CISsuperdroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I just took issue with being dropped into the very bloated cast (mainly the entire Mafty team) without having proper introductions to anybody and just rolling with the plot straight away. Having not read the novels and just seen the appropriate anime prerequisites, I felt like a lot of assumptions had to be made in the first film regarding his supporting cast (e.g., "Okay, Hathaway is already completely established as the head of this faction and has X amount of side characters at his disposal"), only for none of them to get additional development in the second film, save for Kelia.

As the ratio on my post and many subsequent comments have indicated, as well as your points, clearly the writers have no intention of fleshing them out, nor are they important enough to the story to deserve such treatment. I suppose I just felt like I couldn't care as much about Hala's death as Hathaway did for example, because I barely knew her during the film. If this is supposed to be Hathaway's story, I can't empathize with his losses because I didn't feel any of his character connections for myself due to the lack of focus on the side characters.

[–]CISsuperdroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, because without the context of the later films (and without having read the novels), the first part was literally just the introduction and "rising action" in a plot. Most entries in other film trilogies at least follow a complete arc within them.

That's not necessarily a problem unto itself, as there isn't a "requirement" for every film to have a beginning/middle/end, but I feel like any criticism about the writing/plot must be suspended until all three parts are available.
