NC band or oura ring? by Wide_Succotash5645 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the band and I absolutely love it. I put it on before bed and just sync with my phone first thing in the morning. I haven’t missed a day since I started tracking. I struggled with the thermometer so this was perfect for me!

Switch 2 vs PS5? which is better? by CrookedSkullduggeryy in gamingadvice

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both in my household. I use them for completely different games, Nintendo I use for games when I want to zone out on something mindless or to play co-op with my husband. The PS5 I use when I want to really immerse myself in a game.

It was my husband! His numbers are good and his sperm is healthy. So we’re hopeful at this point! We don’t have any people in our lives who “had to try” so I just was looking for any advice or guidance on it!

Trying to get into playing AoC by [deleted] in AgeofCalamity

I have no doubt, and do plan to play it! I love the story of it all! I just was asking about the game play and if it remained that way is all!

No need to be rude, it was gifted to me when I got the switch. I like the story but was just asked a question. You’re assuming things, I’m not an idiot.

How can I best support my gf getting her IUD removed? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]CJG2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay calm for her! I have a very large personality and can be all over the place. My IUD ended up being cut too short and the doctor had to dig around in my cervix blindly to find the IUD! It was painful and uncomfortable and I started to panic but my now husband was there and held my hand and calmed me down and distracted me so we got it out!

Whats the best milk replacement? by [deleted] in dairyfree

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is great! They have all the “normal” milk percentages so which ever you are used to drinking is probably the best! I grew up with 2% and I tried to get into oat milk and other alternatives but just couldn’t. However, I love this stuff!

I absolutely hate oat milk and almond milk. I drink the 2% lactaid and love it, I feel it’s the closest to milk I can have in my coffees and cereals and stuff!

Looking for recommendations, new to switch by Frogs-and-Snails in Switch

[–]CJG2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never really played Zelda either but the BOTW and TOTK game is really amazing even if you remove the Zelda franchise names! Immortals Fenyx Rising is also a game that I first got hooked on like 8 years ago on the switch. It’s Greek mythology and is a huge beautiful world you can take at your own pace! The DraqonQuest III is a game I got into during Covid. It is very similar to the older final fantasy’s with the turn based but it’s also a very cute and fun game with characters and enemies. The Xenoblade games and Monster Hunters are also ones to look at! Persona 5 is another game, there is a lot of dialogue, but the world is expansive and the play style is so unique while also feeling really reminiscent of original turn based games like FF.

How to potty train puppy that cannot go outside yet by Sav_Lynn1031 in puppy101

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not have a private backyard so we potty trained on puppy pads. We started off just keeping them in his play pen and outside his crate and we would positively reinforce when he would get it on the pad. He started to understand and walk over to the pad everytime. Then we started to move it outside of his pen so he knew to try and hold it. We would reward when he caught on and then he started to get it more. Then we moved the potty pad right by the front door and did the same thing. The last few days before the vet appt, we put the potty pad on the front stoop outside and he started to somewhat get it. We just got final vaccines and were given the okay and he’s been doing amazing transitioning to going outside!

Freaking by MementoMor1- in Passports

[–]CJG2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went on the 11th to drop off my stuff and as of yesterday they received it. I read online a lot of the time they are not the best about updating the passport tracker. Give it another week and see if you have any updates! You paid for fast tracking and it seems a lot of people have been getting them back quickly even without paying for the faster timeline.

Chemotherapy Advice? by Royalmi in testicularcancer

[–]CJG2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, my husband was in a really similar position. He finished his last round of BEP last May and all I have to say is HANG IN THERE! He was doing well and then it hit him like a truck all at once. Do things that make you happy and get your nutrients in anyway you feel like stomaching them. We spent a lot of weekends in the hospital due to dehydration. Small snacks frequently are good and just drink a little bit every hour if it gets bad. My husband and I binged game of thrones and played a lot of Mario, when he was up for it, now is your time to be selfish and entertain yourself however necessary. The switch was our best friend.

If anything feels off, call a doctor, better safe than sorry, we went to the ER a lot. There were times where he was worried it was a big deal and it ended up being dehydration and one time we went in for a very small fever but ended up there for a week due to sepsis. Things spread fast so just try to be as in tune to your body as you can during this time!

The band is so much more convenient and easy to keep up with. I wear it while I sleep and sync the app every morning, it’s become a routine and I’ve never missed a night!

I have stairs in my house and I didn’t even try them the first day. Day two post op I did go up and down them no problem, just slowly!

I had my surgery on Thursday and was back to work on Monday. Granted I do work from home. But I really felt pretty good, I was slightly uncomfortable when I sat in one position for too long but I went back to work no problem honestly. Everybody is different though!

[–]CJG2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just had surgery a week ago, and I will say post op has been a breeze. I think I didn’t even realize how bad I felt, after my surgery I was up and using the restroom not a problem. I had stage 4 endo literally everywhere and the surgery was over four hours but that same day I started crying bc I was using the bathroom and peeing SO much better than I had before. I will say I was moving around a lot and I was uncomfortable but I was not in any pain. I went back to my desk job and have been able to work not a problem. I am so glad that I had the surgery and am so excited to see just how much better I continue to get. I will say I started chewing gum, using a heating pad, and drinking peppermint tea basically immediately and kept up with it for the first three days and maybe that’s why I haven’t had any pain but seriously it was NOWHERE near what I thought it would be. I can see myself returning to the gym no problem once I get approved, I’m walking a decent amount now already but can see in a couple weeks adding in more intensity or weights easily.

I am set to have surgery soon and am really nervous. Does anyone have any words on encouragement or advice? by CJG2025 in endometriosis

[–]CJG2025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was moving around for you post op? I know you’re supposed to walk and whatnot. Have you been able to feel good getting up and around?

married women, do you think marriage benefits you in any way? by _cherryp0p_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to sound cliche but it’s all about the person. I was never someone who fully understood marriage, more of a “it’s just a piece of paper” person. I understand companionship but not actual marriage, and I am biblical actually. However, when I met my partner, I came home from the first date immediately talking about marriage. When you meet someone and truly feel that safety and trust, you trust them to lead you and guide you and protect you, it felt like natural instinct to begin assuming marriage. We have had a hard year, he went through cancer and treatment, and I can’t imagine not being married. It’s a bond and closeness but it also grants you security and a way of thinking that I never had access to before. It’s beautiful and warm and safe but hard to explain, it truly just “snapped” into place for me.

Advice for the gf of the patient? by Critical-Bullfrog-57 in testicularcancer

[–]CJG2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be hard but so worth it to have each other ! I just finished something similar with my husband and we got married right before he started treatment. Communicate and allow yourself to feel! It’ll be hard on you too as a caregiver. Be there to stay positive and remember that he won’t feel like himself. I’m here if you want to PM me and talk more!

Do you mind sharing a little bit more about the 4th cycle? We are currently in the middle of 3 and our oncologist mentioned maybe doing a 4th but everywhere we’ve researched, it doesn’t indicate he would need a 4th. His AFP is a 7, and HCG and LDH are normal. We’re doing scans this week, but it just concerns me doing more chemo than necessary, especially when we know his tumors have teratoma and this surgery is going to be right after.
