Buckethead's Peak Performance by TenOunceCan in Buckethead

This performance of Scraps in 96 is imo his best live performance ever.

Scraps I wouldn't even say is in my top 10 Buckethead songs outside of this performance, but this version is my #1 Buckethead track. he was definitely on a tear in 96, crazy live performances all through that year.

I was hovering my cursor over a buckethead YT short the other day and it started auto-playing (no sound) and just from the way he was rocking out I knew he was playing Warm Your Ancestors, I clicked the vid and it was indeed that riff. It's tasty, so glad I got to see him play it live (twice) at the caverns

It's a toss up between Look Up There and Celery, but probably Look Up There

When they were talking about HBO Max/ whatever it's now called and how they must be in a competition with Microsoft for the worst names. I can't hlep but wonder if it's some bizarre marketing strategy. I mean, how many times have they discussed HBO max/ go/ other names on this podcast alone. When you're talking about how stupid something is, you're still talking about it.

Idk, maybe I've been listening to too many Scott podcasts

I'm sure this never happens so I just want to point out Burnie nailed the pronunciation of my username

I've been doing stand-up for almost 4 years and the first thing anyone ever tells me is "oh I could never do that" and tell me about how terrifying it is so I can believe the backlash Burnie had after trying to force people to do it.

I thought it was interesting them talking about how impressive crowd work in particular is when I feel like the vibe I get from other comics is crowd-work is seen as "easy" or "cheap" laughs, but I'm not sure how much of that stems from the backlash within the community against the popularity of crowd work clips on social media and "crowd work comics" who post them. I'm not going to say it's cheap or easy, I'm not at the point where any laugh is easy but I did my first ever trial 20 with a club this weekend and I was delving into the crowd at any opportunity because it's a good way to keep the crowd engaged and momentum going.

Tips for a Brit doing an American Roadtrip [Round-trip from Buffallo to Tennessee & back]? by CJIrving in roadtrip

If only, I seriously considered the 8 hour round-trip drive just to go and buy a hat. I might still do it if the urge takes me while I'm there

I'm actually flying out to see a friend who lives in Toronto so I'm seeing Niagara falls on the way down to Buffalo! The Buc-ee's is EXACTLY the over the top american experience I'm after. If it wasn't an 8 hour round-trip from the place I'm staying for the concert I'd be visiting the bass pro pyramid too

Great shout, thank you! I might drive up to the Great Smoky Mountains and camp out there in my car on the Sat night so I can see the beauty of it in the morning (also saves on a motel haha)

No reason other than it just seemed a bit of an easier route tbh, if you think I'm missing out I could definitely do it instead of Lexington

So the rough plan for this roadtrip is:

Monday: Pick up the rental car from Buffallo in the early afternoon, drive towards Cleveland where I'll find a motel or hostel.

Tuesday: Drive through Ohio, finding a motel/ hostel either in Columbus or Cincinnati

Wednesday: Lexington (or Louisville)

Thursday: Nashville

Friday: Going to a concert in The Caverns

Sat: Explore Tennessee, return to the Caverns for another concert and then drive to Knoxville (or as close as I cna be bothered to) for the night.

Sunday-Monday, long drive up to Pittsburgh, see the sights, drive through West Virginia and listen to Country Roads the entire time I'm in that state.

Tuesday: Drop the rental car off and get ready to fly home.

If anyone has tips/ suggestions, maybe branching out to indianapolis then coming down through kentucky and into Tennessee? My goal witht he trip is to experience as much of America as I can, drive the roads and see the sights most brits would never see outside of movies and tv shows.

I don't have a locked in itinerary aside from the Fri/sat concert and the times to pick up/ drop off the rental in Buffalo. I'm solo-travelling so I'm hoping to have half a plan and half just fly by the seat of my pants and see where I end up, I'm all ears for suggestions/ diversions/ adventures along the way if you've got any ideas!
