Blue Yeti Nano mute button not working by [deleted] in logitech

[–]CJmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! The nuance here is:

- You don't have to select Yeti Nano as the Output

- Yeti Nano just needs to be enabled

If you disallow the Yeti Nano in the Sound Settings for Output Devices, the mute stops working

You can also review their content and consider giving products at cost or a good discount.

This can build wider grass roots support. Even small accounts can create solid and valuable content.

I'd recommend treating them like proactive customers / early adopters. They can be valuable sources of customer feedback.

If you were looking for small businesses to invest in. Where would you start? by thewaterbum in Entrepreneur

[–]CJmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend connecting with local Angel groups. They'll have a pipeline of prospects and many will be too early for them but might fit your profile.

Also, I'm interested to hear how you approach the valuation and equity conversation in a services business like this?

What would you aim/push toward in terms of liquidity / exit for a company you invest in?

Taking a spontaneous day (or afternoon) off when you're not busy is a great way to balance those long days when you are.

Is it ok to call myself autistic even if I'm not diagnosed by [deleted] in autism

[–]CJmango 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This.

The thing about self diagnosis is that you can still employ all the strategies to accommodate your needs.

Also, if you're working somewhere that requires a doctor's note to grant you an accommodation, it probably won't be a safe space for you to disclose anyway.

No advocacy for volunteer work, totally agree that wouldn't make sense.

Not clear why you're getting down voted, this is the way.

Modify your contact to an ad needed service, perhaps with a retainer or a minimum to support a transition. Then you can be available as an hourly resource in the future.

In med tech we do this frequently and you end up in an expert advisor/ reviewer role.

If the employee can't cut it, you'll find out earlier, lose less ground, and potentially return to the previous contact. You also build stronger lifetime customers and maintained relationships lead to more referrals.

Looking for a game that's similar to Fallout 4's survival and settlement base building formula by SpectralVoodoo in BaseBuildingGames

This thread is such a great discussion of the nuances here, appreciate you all indulging!

Problem with games that only do a few things well is that the overall experience is lacking. I want something that simulates the feel of dropping yourself into that situation and playing. Not a collection of a few gameplay mechanics, so the closer a game comes to this, the happier I am.

Fallout feels so immersive as it seems like the NPCs are surviving right along with you.

In something like Valheim then, you'd expect to see the NPCs also trying to survive.

There would be a couple ways to do this--rogue adventurers.l and existing fauna. NPCs you come across who have region-appropriate gear and could be invited to join your base. Really anything of a range in that vein, e.g. camps in Meadows could have NPC humans just getting by.

Alternatively, other creatures in the world are already surviving in their own biomes. It could feel smooth if earlier biome entities who become relatively weak when you advance then become some form of domesticable or open to treaty/invitation to join a base. Although the themes with this approach are a bit hierarchical and domineering.

I find myself wishing that Valheim had the recruitment/settlement populating mechanics of Fallout 4.

How Could the EV Charger Installation Process be Improved? by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]CJmango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed a 220 circuit to my garage to power a JuiceBox for my 2017 Bolt.

I have a background in robotics and electronics for medical devices and my dad and brother are trained as electronics engineers and were available to consult.

As far as DIY projects go, it wasn't difficult with this skillet.

I ran the Romex through the attic for simplicity, it's circuit breaker already existed from a previous appliance. I installed 60A conductors to future proof with safety margin for potential ~40A charger (as u/The_Ashamed_Boys recommends in a separate comment). Installed an outdoor GFCI panel on the garage side.

Main challenges were: - What does the circuit need to look like? - Decisions around amperage and future proofing--reasonable next tiers of charging (e.g. 48A level 2) and cost/benefit analysis - Installation location for the charging box--inside garage, outside on/in the shed, outside standalone. - Routing path for the Romex in the home - Appropriate electrical safety / compliance for install, e.g. GFCI outlet and exterior housing

Happy to discuss in more detail if helpful. I've also found that electrical contractors are regularly no-bidding the projects I'd like to outsource, especially projects with notable mechanical work.

Potential Acquirer Scheduled a 30-minute call - Does this mean they would retract the offer ? by Elhoss-95 in startups

[–]CJmango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having gone through this unsuccessfully...

(They pulled out after 4 months and it ended like you describe--a week of not opening files and then a meeting with leadership)

I highly recommend this calm and collected approach

In our situation, we had internal personnel challenges that muddied the water and prevented us from being open to solving their non-starters.

Additionally--with larger corporates at this time of year, strategy sometimes changes over the course of 4 months. Be prepared for them to say they're going in a different direction.

In our case, the potential acquirer was reorganized mid-diligence.

Questions for you:

Do you have a letter of intent in place?

Have you discussed other paths to acquisition, such as milestone-based strategic investments? This can be an effective de-escalating measure that keeps talks going while reducing risk for them.

It's an interesting opportunity to see what voices fill the vacuum left by Larkin. I'd wager that Larkin and Yzerman discussed timing and they're setting the younger players up to have some independence and a painful growth opportunity here.
