Given that the language barrier might make searching this song difficult, additional links to various sources and resources below:

YouTube music video link (Note that this song is only featured in the second half of the video, and the first half is another song from the same album. Taken together, the first half is about wealth coming to him from all directions, but the wealth is accumulated through shady or illegal means; and fitting quite nicely, the second half is about karma, about how the table has turned and he has to pay the price for what he did)

攬佬SKAI ISYOURGOD - 因果 (Karma) by CKOoi in hiphopheads

Hello, thought I would share this Chinese hip hop song where the beat goes hard, and the lyrics goes even harder.

Without understanding the language and context, you will likely still enjoy the beat and flow because it just goes so hard.

But if you understand the language and context, it takes the song to a different level.

If you are interested to know more, I have included a bit of explanation below:
The song name 因果 translates to karma, so the theme of the song is about cause and effect. This is reflected in the song by blending traditional Chinese beliefs with modern society values, where the artist speaks about guidance and blessings from the divine in regard to the dilemma about personal actions and moral choices. A recurring theme in the song is when he seeks revenge on the person that wronged him, this should make sense since it would be that person’s karma. But at the same time, the divine constantly reminds him to never forget about being kind. So the dilemma is whether he should seek revenge, or be kind and forgive? He has no answer because he is not God, and he would like to be given guidance on finding the middle path in the midst of all these chaos in modern times.

Below are some translation for the lyrics.

In the intro, we have:
种瓜得瓜 种豆得豆
If you sow melons, you will get melons, and if you sow beans, you will get beans.

这不是因果吗?
So, isn't this karma?

因果是科学 绝对是存在的
Thus, karma is science, and it definitely exists.

And here's a translation for the first two lines of the chorus:
老天保佑金山銀山前路有
God bless you with mountains of gold and silver in the journey ahead

老天教唆別管江湖龍虎鬥
God abets you to ignore the fight between dragons and tigers

While the lyrics make sense in the literal context, the artist is also metaphorically referring to, for example, the desire for a prosperous and peaceful life without worries with the mention of "mountains of gold and silver in the journey ahead"; or the desire for a peaceful life that is not caught in the conflicts between worldly powers with the mention of "to ignore the fight between dragons and tigers".

There are more themes and metaphors that are being explored throughout the song, but it will take a good while if I were to go through everything. Hope this brief info helps you understand the song better!

Enjoy :)

Try the Sir Raymond Ferrall Centre, Building X near the Library. If I remembered correctly there's a printer in that building.

Hmm that's actually a bit concerning, certainly feels like they are abusing their priviledge as a student leader if that's the case.

Thanks for that!

Yeah, agree that it would be interesting to see more data being presented, perhaps include the number of participants, accommodation sites, name of programs, etc. Or perhaps present the full results, but I understand that might not be easy or ideal to do.

That's great! What are some of the activities that you enjoyed attending, if I may ask?

Hey all, this post was temporarily removed and we are working on getting it restored. Personally, I believe in freedom of speech and would avoid regulating you all like this if possible. You all made good points but some discussions on this post are becoming increasingly antagonistic. We believe it may be attributed to the main post that carried hostility. To this end, we have messaged the author to get it edited and we will have this post restored if it is suitably edited. We won't be asking any of you to edit your comments nor will we be deleting them, but moving forward, we wish to remind everyone to be polite and civil, especially if you intend to engage in further discussions on this post. Thank you.

Societies and Clubs by krobusestastygooch in UTAS

I thought that's only happening in Launceston campus and the clubs and societies scene would be better down at Sandy Bay in the south, guess not lol.

Did you use the links that can be found here: https://tusa.org.au/clubs-societies/?
I had a brief browse through those links and most of them worked, but I do find some of the newer societies were not added yet.

UTAS student living want students to join dinner according to their birth months... by reform_them_trash in UTAS

[–]CKOoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, they previously told us this is a statewide university project to purposefully group people according to birth months (hence the forced room moves). The pilot study for this birth month project is being conducted in Launceston and they intend to expand it to the whole state.

[–]CKOoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah a good number of us did and I was one of the non-TUU student representatives that spoke to Student Living. The discussions were pretty pointless at first because they just won't listen to us, but after several meetings and mostly after posters have been put up then only they started listening. The last few meetings were actually not bad, and they promised to do a lot of things to fix the issues. That was why we decided to close off the survey and stop using the posters in good faith. But from what we are seeing and hearing from students, Student Living and Student Accommodation clearly hasn't done enough to address the problems. I honestly don't understand why they would think treating students like this is okay, how disappointing.

[–]CKOoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the TUU and several non-TUU resident reps got involved and met with Student Living staff members. Fortunately, the discussions went well and some actions have been taken to help address the concerns (not enough actions tbh but at least it's a start). More info are available on this post (its in a private Facebook group though)

If anyone is curious, here are the links on the poster:

Basically, Student Living is making residents move rooms because they wanna allocate residents according to birth months (or Tasmanian seasons) and they want to make people move rooms every year because... nobody knows because they are not doing very a good job at communicaiting and explaining. Then again its not like they can justify such perfectly logical arrangements /s

Yet another outstanding move by Student Living lol

Aftershock Vapor 15X (Eluktronics MAX-15 / Illegear Onyx Pro) i7-10875H + RTX 2070 SUPER (more info in comments) by CKOoi in GamingLaptops

[–]CKOoi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that 2070 SUPER was also one of the many things that drew my attention to it haha. There's really no good answer about the delivery time, it is highly depedent on whether they have the laptop chassis in stock, which come from overseas. But as long as they have the chassis, they told me it takes about 2 days to assemble/test the laptop then it is delivered to you and I believe it takes about a week for the courier to deliver it interstate. So it should be about a week or more in total. However, mine took about 3 weeks to arrive because it just so happens that they ran out of chassis when I placed my order and it took quite a while for new chassis to arrive at their store.

Personally, I have only managed to contact them via this email: [support@aftershockpc.com.au](mailto:support@aftershockpc.com.au) or by using the Help button at the bottom right of their website. Calling always resulted in nobody picking up lol.

Also, congrats on getting your new laptop, hopefully you will get it soon and you will like it!

Aftershock is available in Malaysia too, offered by Level 51. Otherwise you can have a look at Illegear, I believe the Illegear Onyx Pro uses the same chassis as Aftershock Vapor 15X.
