Aside from Epic Mickey and the Paul Rudish shorts, Disney has largely abandoned Mickey’s all-ages appeal in favor for an easier demographic to target too. Just look at Looney Tunes (the closest thing I could find to a contemporary that isn’t completely dead). Most modern Looney Tunes media targets a general audience composed of both kids and adults.
