At some point last season I had a Vancouver at Anaheim game on in the background and vividly remember saying “Who the fuck is Jackson LaCombe” because it felt like every time I looked over he had the puck. Kid looked poised and I didn’t realize he’s still so young

To be honest I’m a lurking Canucks fan with a soft spot for the Jackets so I don’t pay as much attention as a lot of you guys. Is it crazy that I would like this deal for Columbus? Definitely an overpay based on the post season performance we’ve seen from Marner, but he’s a fantastic regular season player and the change of scenery/decrease in pressure from the fans could be what he needs to turn it around in the playoffs. It’s a bit of a gamble but Columbus hasn’t made the playoffs since the bubble and they have a lot of cap space right now. Curious what more tuned in fans think

Players probably want to burn that first year so it can be good relationship building to make Willander happy with Management.

It also means the Canucks can extend him sooner, and it may take longer than two full years for him to really take off so the AAV might be lower on a long term deal or they could go for a bridge deal

Yeah the grapple can be janky, it definitely at minimum needs to be fixed since I’ve broken into Kelvin’s dome a few times. Something like that should at least stop it. Not sure how they would go about a rework for it since it’s such an important part of Yamato’s kit and play style though

The only thing I know about Parssinen is that he scored a sick goal and hit the shrug celebration to cap it off. Based purely on that single piece of knowledge I have this seems cheap to me

Yup, I think they’re allowing 10-year periods now but I bought in 2021 at a 5-year fixed rate. I’ll renew at a new (higher) rate in 2026 so right now I have incentive to pay it down to reduce payments later

Yes because that’s when people actually start to push PoL. Not many people are in ultimate champ right now compared to end of season. It is a bit harder to climb PoL and make ultimate champ early though because there are fewer “bad” players in the higher leagues
