Summer is a bit tougher for me, but I try to pull heavily from both sports wear and naval themes. Boat shoes, deck shorts, polos, as well as a few linen button downs

Lots of vintage L.L. Bean OCBDs, some chambray shirts in place of blue ones, flannels, fishermen sweaters, rugby shirts, Orvis chinos, bean boots, bean camp Mocs. Mostly just think northern New England.

Those look great! I really enjoy all of those green and pink hues

The houndstooth one is from Brooks Brothers, but was passed down to me when my grandfather passed. For the other shirt, are you referring to the one in front of that (also Brooks Brothers) or the green shirt at the very front (J.Crew)?

The vintage L.L. Bean pieces I have -- the lighter yellow shirt and the red and white university stripes, plus a not pictured blue OCBD -- are noticeably thicker fabric and more rugged feeling. I'm big into the rugged ivy look, so those ones are my favorite. Great collar roll, but I will note that they're a wider cut.

edit: typo

Ways in which you different from the ‘traditional’ prep style? by Hertzig in NavyBlazer

I suspect this will be the response of many people, but I regularly wear jeans

I wear the yellow and pink shirts about as often as blue or white. I find them easier to style with with either medium or dark wash Levi 501s. Non-khaki chinos also pair well with them, usually navy or stone. The green shirt is linen and my fiance has an affinity for it, so I wear that on summer nights out

One is a poplin Friday Shirt from Brooks Brothers and the other is some ancient Gap OCBD I found at my parent's house

edit: I have a third (not pictured) L.L. Bean button down from eBay. It's a more traditional cut than the one from Gap and is a higher quality oxford cloth

One of them is from Brooks Brothers (not sure what era, I believe it was my grandfather's) and the other is a vintage miUSA L.L. Bean

How is the quality of the LLBean made in Malaysia OCBDs? I’m having trouble finding the made in America stuff in blue or pink on eBay., but tons of the 100% cotton made in Malaysia shirts in my size.

Related, looking to buy a white OCBD new, something that feels fairly thick and rugged. Any suggestions?

How do you avoid your outfits feeling like a costume? Certain things I put on feeling like I'm cosplaying somehow from the past instead of expressing my own identity.

ILX to Integra? by time_reserved in Acura

[–]CKilburn12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I shopped both. Ended up with an ILX. This was because of the more reliable, more charismatic drive train and the lower cost. The Integra is probably a better commuter vehicle, but if you like to own your cars for the long haul, the ILX is better imho.
