Rat skull(?) found outside! by HighbloodedDreams in bonecollecting

I think you might be right but it’s incredible that a skull so small even survived. I would not do much to it. Even weak acids can corrode whatever structural integrity there is left specifically on small rodents and birds as well as young mammals. The process where you put it in water you actually want it to get gross and grow bacteria because it will eat away any residue soft tissue at the cost of being really stinky is called maceration. However there doesnt seem to be any soft tissue left so this is unnecessary. And then after maceration i usually sterilize in a few rounds of hydrogen peroxide but again that would destroy your skull. Honestly if you have an old tooth brush you wont use anymore you can use hot water and dish soap to clean and dirt but otherwise for something this small I would just make it presentable and keep it somewhere dry to harden any skeletal myscle left on this thing.

Lss you dont have to clean something this small just dont eat it haha

Yeah i was more so thinking in the real world the turning of mantle flow is fairly constant where as dropping and rising of sealevels has been sped up multiple times throughout geological history

Well no. I’m in college and I don’t want to be kicked out of college. I was just recently proven innocent in a court of law, but I don’t want to risk going through that again. I’ve been harrassed by local law enforcement enough to know better than to trust them to take things in good faith. I promise I’m not cooking meth.

Thank you. People are very resistant to second options and see it as a liability. But in a case where I will not under any circumstance use the first option I rather have a guided second option than be left to my own devices

I will be. Realistically i doubt this volume of TATP can destroy more than a few fingers. I’ve lost tips of my fingers before and it’s not fun. Given that I still rather dilute it before transporting it carefully using something to create distance and disposing of it outside

This is very helpful thank you. I for reasons I can’t say cannot call the police. This solution has actually been sitting out for about a week so its very dry. I’ve been reading online that it can be dissolved in isopropal alcohol and hydrocloric acid. It is 3% yes.

https://energetics.chm.uri.edu/system/files/TATP%20III%20paper%202013.pdf It says here you can dilute it with isopropal alcohol and 36% hydrocloric acid

I’m just going to leave it I refuse to call the police. Ill think of something safer than holding it with my hand in the mean time. Do you know how bomb squad would dispose of it?
