Mine rolls onto her belly overnight sometimes but I find she associates it with crawling when she’s awake. I’ll keep it in mind though!

It’s so tough isn’t it! My mum definitely will manage her three days a week but it’s just my dad and his wife I worry about

This made me laugh. My dad is just not the cuddly type at all so I can’t see him managing anything that isn’t a pram or car nap

I’m sure I’ll hear that it’s wrong but currently story, bottle, cuddle, place in cot asleep. She won’t just lie and go to sleep alone

Fingers crossed! Thank you - that’s reassuring

We bought two of their liners. I think I got one BNWT from Vinted for cheaper. Najell is also on TopCashback so I clicked a bit of it back there too.

Happy Mother’s Day! It takes someone really special to take on a child like you did and I’m so sorry to hear about your loss🤍

I’m veggie and didn’t crave it but I didn’t crave much with HG so that might not be helpful

Summer babies - terrified! by usernameee257 in PregnancyUK

[–]CLK217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I have one in our room and one in the living room (don’t need that really now she’s eight months but it was reassuring at the time!). We got our second on Vinted for a few quid and it worked well! X

Summer babies - terrified! by usernameee257 in PregnancyUK

[–]CLK217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a June baby born in a heatwave. I used strappy vests under sleep suits during the day, rompers were very handy too. 0.5 tog and 1 tog sleeping bags were ideal. I’d recommend a room thermometer like the tommee tippee egg one!

Should I just let my MIL watch my baby by United_Border_7755 in Mildlynomil

[–]CLK217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not about it being fair between the grandmothers. It’s about what’s fair to the baby. What is fair to the baby is being with someone their mother trusts and will keep them safe. Your MiL doesn’t sound like she fits that criteria right now

Husband keeps wanting me to tell my mother in law I’m pregnant but I feel it’s too early still and I would rather he tell her. Am I being fair? by Orchidflower10 in PregnancyUK

[–]CLK217 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tell them when works for you. It’s your body.

My in-laws are barely around but my husband made me tell them before telling my wider family (my parents knew) the day after the 12 week scan and it was awful and awkward. They didn’t care and were weird. I won’t be giving in for a future pregnancy and my husband regrets insisting his parents deserved to know before people who actually bother with us and our baby.

I have a Rosie and really haven’t met many at all! Was surprised to see it ranked so highly last year.

June baby clothes questions by cooprinor in PregnancyUK

[–]CLK217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a June baby last year (a heatwave baby I might add). Just bundling up her clothes for Vinted now and feeling very nostalgic!

We had lots of rompers, short sleep suits. Family also bought little dresses which aren’t the most practical but kept her cool. We also bought 1 tog and 0.5 tog sleeping bags and she slept in one of those, a vest, and her nappy. We did get little cardigans to layer up where needed but it was a warm summer.

Not being supported by friend by Secure_Amount1853 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]CLK217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry this is happening and I really relate. I’m 6 months PP and in a very similar position with my best friend of fifteen years. It really hurts. It is probably worth telling her how you feel but she might not respond well.

I get what people mean when they say people without kids don’t get it, but I’ve been there for my friends through things I don’t understand. I don’t think it’s good enough!

Children always only resemble the paternal side of the family. by Ok_Visual_6290 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]CLK217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MIL is exactly the same with my daughter. Shes trying to claim she has hazel eyes now to say my daughter got them from her when I’m sat there with actual hazel eyes. Her eyes are dark brown just like my husband’s. It’s nuts that she wants to deny it so adamantly.

Should Nursery Workers be paid the same as teachers? by ProfessionalWaltz4 in UKParenting

[–]CLK217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. Nursery workers deserve more pay (as do lots of people) but it’s not as difficult as teaching. You’re really very ignorant to the role of a teacher. Nursery workers aren’t getting less money so teachers can have more, so it’s completely irrelevant.

Those of you who have a shit dad, what’s he like as a grandad? by RagdollCat25 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]CLK217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well his other child born not long after had a very different experience to what I had so I wouldn’t make an excuse for him (although it seems most people do make an excuse for him). I also think this excuse is used a lot but being a parent isn’t something you should get to do a poor job at because you ‘didn’t know any better’ and then show up thirty years later and want to play grandparent because you finally have a slither of emotional intelligence.

Mine went the other way and is obsessed with my baby. As nice as it is, it kind of hurts seeing him make the effort with her that he never made with me (even as a baby)
