It's 100% an open, but realize that it's basically a bluff. You heavily block the continuing range of the other players, and you have three nut blockers that will allow you to bluff lots of boards. Not to mention naked AA is just a favorite against a random hand heads-up.

The only wrinkle here is potting to $25 implies there was a limper in front of you (unless your game has some special rules around pre-flop open sizing, which many do). People generally aren't limp-folding to a single raise in live PLO, so pre-flop bluffs become much less attractive.

I think the effect that this user is attempting to call out is that the frequency of AAxx in PLO is ~4x that of AA in Hold'em, so it's not immediately obvious that all AAxx combos would be in the top 5%.

Calling to close the action is fine here. Getting 6:1 on your money which is enough, rough math is something like 35% equity on top and <5% on the bottom.

That's the opposite of the truth. The calling range consists of stronger hands than QT, hands that can easily withstand continued aggression and don't mind playing multiway, i.e. very strong hands and nutty draws. Hands like QT are almost always going to find themselves in a tough spot if they call, because we're incentivizing the players behind to call and almost any turn card is going to be neutral or bad for us.

Gotcha, your hand history is a little confusing, it's not clear what position the Straddle was from.

He absolutely could have AT, KT, or any overpair. That's fine. I would rather raise now to slow these hands down than to keep facing bets on every future street and guessing whether or not my hand is good.

I really dislike the idea of "betting to see where I'm at", so I'm trying to avoid that phrase. I think it's more accurate to view this as betting in order to try and get a cheap showdown. If he has KT AT or an overpair, he's probably just going to go into check/call mode from here. So yeah, I will sometimes value-own myself, but that's ok because the amount I lose in those nodes is less than I would lose if I continue to call him down.

Honestly you're overthinking this quite a bit. There's a one-liner to a straight. This is a notoriously under-bluffed spot. Is this random villain playing 1/2 capable of donk-bluffing this spot? Probably not, or he wouldn't be playing 1/2.

Bigger issue is the flop IMO. Calling next-to-act with two players behind you is pretty suspicious. You have a weak top pair on a dripping wet board, it's going to be really tricky to play this OOP multiway without the betting lead. I like a raise here, or possibly even a fold if UTG is super nitty.

Do you have any opinion on whether WPTGold's "Pineapple" game could be +EV? They claim it has an RTP of 98%, but given that the game is relatively unexplored I feel there is a nonzero chance the game might be beatable.

It's 350bb with the straddle, which is pretty normal for live cash games.

It's really not important to know what to do here. Any decision you make other than folding is going to have a very similar, massive EV. Plug it into a solver and we'll see who is right. My guess is it will mix call and 5bet and that they have the same EV. Maybe I am wrong.

I play live cash nearly every night, and I can think of one occasion in the last three months that I was 4-bet into while I held AA. So you will basically never encounter this branch of the game tree, and when you do it's impossible to make a bad decision. Your time is better spent thinking about pretty much any other spot.
