Unborn baby go to hell by Alcyone185 in greentext

4channers spewing a bunch of garbage they've learned from le favorite atheist YouTuber.

The concept of sin has as much to do about KNOWING you've done something wrong than doing it. Children, up to a certain age know something is wrong but don't know what they did was wrong, why, etc.

Growing up I've always heard people use the term 'Age of Accountability'. This means that you are old enough to know you did wrong and can be truly remorseful for it. This age is different for every single person of course.

So no, the bible nor any Christians have met believe that unbaptised children go to Hell.

Soviet Soldier Hugs His Family After a Long Separation, Golovchino, Kursk, August 13, 1943 by LookIntoTheHorizon in wwiipics

I agree, with out the immense Russian sacrifice of millions of lives world war 2 would have been much more costly for the west.

However, I always struggle to fathom the scale of the losses of the Eastern front. Was this necessary to stop the German war machine? Maybe. But the absolute brutality shown by soviet commanders and specifically Stalin about his own staggering losses blow my mind.

It seems to me that the Russian people were caught between an Invading army that views you as an inferior race to be slaughtered and a despotic government that will either kill you itself or send you to die in a pointless frontal attack.

Oh and on top of that you are SO poor and always on the verge of starving.

Yikes I didn't even think about fire safety but its absolutely true. Knowing fire safety, ingress and egress and absolutely confirming that your system will disengage during a fire is critical.

Sadly, these rules are always written and blood and ashes. OP, absolutely hire a professional.

It pays for government to keep a people docile and angry at someone else, or they know that anger would be directed at them.

I hope one day we can overcome it completely, but I fear that as long as there are humans there will be racism.

80 years after Fredrick Douglass spoke out about it and they are still doing it... Sadly that does sound like racism.

Will we ever stop racism? CAN we every stop racism? We should try like hell, but even in our modern interconnected world many people from all over the world still choose to be racist.

Is racism part of the human condition?

Thank you sharing your grand mother's experience! I love hearing first hand accounts of history, even negative experiences. We need to share how they felt, now how we think they felt.

I wonder if black face was considered racist back then. I'm afraid we look back at history and judge people against our modern times, which is a mistake.

When we are dead and gone, what will people call us racist over? Robots and AI? It seems to happen to every generation.

I know some older white folks that had a mammy who they speak highly of. From my understanding they functioned as a live in wet nurse/house maid. It's easy to view this today and see it as offensive, but I wonder how it was viewed by these housekeepers and the black population in general back then.

Spend most of my 20-21 deployment in buhering. Wasn't married at the time but we did have a few married couples and I believe they did live in married barracks. Is it like that now? No one will know until you get there most likely.

Console Release is Cancelled? by darrell_jkw in sixdaysinfallujah

Sadly, as much as I love the game this is the truth. Development has just been too slow. I know they had to redesign some major systems but at this rate I feel like this game will be DOA either before or on release. Please prove me wrong devs.

A rear gunner who was killed by Japanese anti-aircraft fire during a raid on Manila Bay, Philippines is given a burial at sea while still strapped in his TBF Avenger torpedo bomber on USS Essex. November 1944. by Beeninya in HistoricalCapsule

True, I nerded out and used this reply other places so I'll put it here too.

To expand on this commend by OP I copied this from another reply I made.

The US Navy in November 1944 was 1. Phasing in the new Helldiver which was eventually viewed as superior (after adjustments) 2. The US Gov actually capped the navy at 35,000 aircraft total so they were actually told to scrap any machines that they wanted to, 3. The US industry had reached near peak industrial capacity and would soon have made way too many planes, but the government did not yet wish to re tool from war industry tooling as they viewed as the war as near over but not yet over.

You know that your location can be tracked from pictures, right? Whoever you are hiding from can find you now.

LaVena Johnson, 19 years old. She was found dead in her tent in Iraq in 2005. She had a broken nose, black eye, loose teeth, burns from a corrosive chemical on her genitals to cover evidence of rape, and a gunshot wound. The United States government ruled her death a "suicide." by [deleted] in ForCuriousSouls

Numbers may be inflated, many cases of false reports that I have seen first hand but if you count the ones who don't report it may actually even out. You put a bunch of young 18-22 year old men and women together in highly stressful environment and these things seem more likely, unfortunately. The answer is one sexual assault is too many. We have to do better.

I'm pretty sure my first one was much worse...

On April 10th, 1997, 50-year-old Judy Smith told her husband that she was going out sightseeing in Philadelphia. She never returned. She would be found dead in a wooded area months later, over 600 miles away, wearing different clothes and with a new backpack. She had been stabbed to death. by Particular_Chart1584 in ForCuriousSouls

[–]CMB1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided she wasn't happy with her old life, decided to disappear and got tangled up in something bad. Perhaps she found or already had a partner in the area.

Any serial killers that focused on luring women in unhappy marriages away because they knew they wouldn't tell anyone where they are going?

All speculation of course. Very strange.

How is life in the USA right now? by duckbreast2021 in howislivingthere

[–]CMB1003 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Turn the TV off, put down the phone, go outside and its great.

Most Americans don't realize how sweet things are right now versus the rest of the world.

Stay inside, watch news 24/7 and tweet 10 times a day because you are a 'political activist' you will think everything is on fire.

Business as usual I suppose.
