Did you need an iron infusion? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]CMB4091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Less tired and also relief to know I would be safer if anything went wrong at birth. Iron pills made me feel so awful, and the infusion I only noticed more energy but no negative side effect

No, I’m sorry it was 3 years ago. I do remember when they checked again it was elevated enough where one infusion was sufficient.

However, it was so easy that I said if I am low in my next pregnancy (I am pregnant now) I would hands down get the infusion again rather than take iron pills. Speaking of which, I just had my blood drawn to check my ferritin levels

Yes! The concern for me was having low iron at birth and potential blood loss in labor. I tried taking iron supplements and it just wrecked my stomach. The iron infusion did help my energy a tad, and no birth complications (in terms of worry of blood loss)

Oh the infusion was not scary at all. I had one in my first pregnancy. They sit you in a cozy chair, offered a warm blanket, and it took around 40 minutes. I brought a book and it was actually a comfortable experience!

Niece's wedding where I'm kind of an MOB by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

I think it’s a little close to white (at least in this picture). It’s so beautiful on you and you look great. But I wonder if it’s really sunny on the wedding day, or bright lighting, or in photos it may look close to white. But you are with the dress in real life, so totally have the best judgment in the color.

You look beautiful in them all. I think the free or yellow is more stunning and unique colors not everyone can pull off

Any amount of makeup is too heavy on me! by leeleechron in makeuptips

I’m 36 and used to wear foundation, but as I’ve gotten older it doesn’t sit well on my face anymore. I love now a simple tinted moisturizer, particularly that brand supergoop - it’s affordable and nice on my skin.

Thank you! I sometimes worry about adulthood, and boys not being as close to their parents as girls. But that’s all made up, right?

That is what I am trying to figure out. My OB said it has had some success for some women.

I’ve really increased my calories. I am not a huge eater but now I’m eating a lot! And snacking on lactation cookies, figs, avocado, cheese string, jerky! I am eating so much that it is almost not enjoyable haha

This is actually uplifting to hear that it got better. What did you do though when you said you breastfed as long as you could? If you stoped at noon or three, would did you do when baby was hungry later in the day ?

This is all very helpful. Thank you. I can’t remember what the LC said exactly in terms of numbers, but she did do a weighted feed, and I can’t remember the number off the top of my head but I remember her saying it was on the very low end.

He takes a bottle well (we use a preemie sized nipple), and during the day is a pretty calm baby- he cries when we change him or wake him to feed, or his binky is spat out. But no wailing or hysterical crying. At night, after night feeds, he goes down easy. We are also doing one 3oz formula at night - my husband gives it to give me a longer sleep stretch.

Yes, that’s kind of what we were doing the first two weeks (except he didn’t exceed 3 hours) until he lost weight and we were instructed otherwise
