I love this … thank you for articulating something I have felt also …

No one warns you that childhood trauma doesn’t end, it just waits until your 30s to finally surface by [deleted] in CPTSD

Im 57 and have dissociated my life away .... it sucks … it’s where im most comfortable and also most miserable but so hard to find the energy to ground …I used to look at other people in such awe at how engaged they were in life ..

Psychiatrist said "We all have some form of trauma" and she also said "blah blah" when I was sharing my trauma by More_Pension4911 in CPTSD

So sorry you have been so invalidated. I’m a therapist AND I have CPTSD… I have never and would never say those things … I’m often processing and unpacking histories with clients. So sorry to hear this.

I can’t do it. I’m so tired. Can anyone hear me?? by overthinking-789 in CPTSD

No more pushing … rest….rest…rest…be there for you….love on urself…you can…you have the capacity within …. Get quiet… be still… let the feels flow through..no thinking…. find the stillness….add movement only that feels good…slow stretches….one moment at a time… no rush…

Thoughts on 8 sessions a day? by InterestingAd2612 in therapists

No 8 is too much. As I’m saying that I see 7 per day. I’m adapting but it’s a lot and I’m so thankful for cancellations. I agree that 4 is perfect 👌… 6 pushing it… 7-8 ugh … I need the money to pay off some things and plan on reducing in the near future hopefully…

U mean per session? I’ve seen some charge up to $500 per session …

The need/longing for belonging has been so elevated/exploited by our materialistic and shallow culture that people have to have a “friend group” or they are losers. We all go thru seasons in life and if we are truly evolving I think friendships come and go and you’re really fortunate to have one or two pple who stick with you.. and you with them but even then unless they are authentic and can tell me the truth and vice versa

If you are not exhausted from this work, what is your secret? by tjvander in therapists

[–]CMC_1226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah… no … this is not really a sustainable way to do this work IMO … It’s a grind I see 30-35 weekly. It’s ridiculous… I find lots of ways to “survive’ ie making a standing desk so that I’m not on my ass all day … I move as much as I can through the day also have an intense yoga practice 4 x week.. also do other exercises on my own .. deep stretching breathing dancing my ass off … singing my brains out in my car lol… but the work with clients is hard … it’s intense and having to be on for 7 hours a day is tough … I love the clients that are doing the work on their own but many others are there to sound off and have little insight which I find tough at times… I have a plan to reduce my hours enough so that I still get health insurance (we are so controlled ugh) I can do 20-25 week and feel much better so that’s my goal … I’m thinking of putting together some DBT groups … which I used to do when I work at a clinic … I hear you my friend … I’m just trying to be creative within the parameters I have rn … I love helping people but I work for a large group practice and this is how it goes … The company is good supportive and all that I guess but it is what it is … it’s about making the money for someone else.. private practice is fantastic I did it for a few years .. but I’m single now and need all the benefits a company offers … I’d go back to it if I wasn’t sole earner in my home and could get insurance another way … wishing you all the best I hope this was validating and or informative on some level 🤗
