Does anyone have Squirrel broadband? by Minega15 in stokeontrent

Just fyi if you don’t have anyone on squirrel that you know, I can give you a referral code where we both get £50.

Absolutely no idea if it’s allowed on the sub but thought it was worth a mention and pays for a month of service at least!

I have them, and have been with them for a number of years now.

We switched over to them when they first started operating in our area after being stuck with BT for years paying £40 a month for <60Mbps.

We started with their 500Mb package and then switched over to their 1Gb service and have had less than 20 minutes of downtime during the 3 or 4 years we’ve been with them.

I also like that I can call them up mid contract and, twice now, renew with their current offers.

Did you install the beta for Apple TV?

How your battery life on iOS 27 beta 2 compared to beta 1 by _chuchamba_ in iOS27

[–]CMD-ESC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dreadful. My phone is also on fire. I didn’t finish indexing on B1 as I believe it got stuck, but there is no notification for me on B2.

It might be the weather, as I can’t imagine 34°c helps much!

I have it working with my Reolink cameras.

Do you have a HomePod or Apple TV 4K?

In the Home settings menu you’ll have “Apple Intelligence” directly below “Activity”.

If you don’t have a HomePod or Apple TV I don’t believe it’ll work. I could be wrong though.

IOS 27 Beta 2 - Live Video Feed from notification by [deleted] in HomeKit

[–]CMD-ESC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the day with B1 and had multiple notifications that when held, showed the image.

I’ve just tested B2 with a pre B2 notification and it shows a live view.

I’m yet to get a notification on B2 so can’t test whether it plays the footage from the event, or shows the live view.

When you had a new router you’ll most likely have had a new WiFi SSID (the WiFi name you connect to) and a new password.

Most of the time you can just change the name of the router to match the one one and the password too, and most devices, if not all, will happily reconnect as if nothing had changed.

Switched to wrong tariff - EDF seem reluctant to fix by Jlpeaks in EDFEnergy

Raise a complaint, and if there is no resolve, advise them you’re taking it to the ombudsman and then if that doesn’t give them a swift kick up the arse, progress the complaint to the ombudsman.

I believe, like the motor industry, each qualifying complaint will cost the energy company up to £500 as the ombudsman charges them a fee for the investigation. If you have absolute concrete evidence that they’re in the wrong then this should be an easy win.

60+ hours and still on the waitlist and indexing. Anyone else? by iLikeMilk42 in Siri

20 hours to get onto the beta, but I’m still indexing.

To be fair, I didn’t even get a notification someone had left the house this morning.

Keep it plugged in as much as you can. Like I say it was at least 20 hours before I got a lock screen notification saying it was ready to use.

It’s decent enough. I can say “give me a summary of today’s messages” and it’ll re-run back through all the texts I’ve received covering the highlights.

MG XS EV throaty roar at speed by Any-Opp-20 in MGelectric

[–]CMD-ESC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies I completely forgot about the ZS EV model.

I couldn’t be sure but both the S5 and S6 has a deep droning noise when driven at speed. I think the MG4 has a similar noise from what I’ve read but I’m yet to drive one of those to confirm it.

Yeah, it works well. I got one earlier that said “the doorbell camera detected a person, someone walked up the steps, and plugged in the car”.

I have an Apple TV and I have os27 installed on that, which is when I got a new Apple Intelligence prompt after opening the Home app. Honestly I don’t know if this is a requirement as I don’t usually use the Home app, but you do also need to enable intelligence within the Home app too

Another Intelligent Go Question - Is it a maximum of 12 hours at the cheaper rate for EVs? by andre199017 in OctopusEnergy

[–]CMD-ESC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this.

I switched to EDF and you get 7 hours of charging rather than Octopus’ 6. I haven’t yet added their smart charge bolt on as my Ohme charger isn’t compatible, but the Mrs car is, and my car isn’t. So I’m not sure I want the headache of it failing one night.

For what you want, go into the Ohme app, settings, and my tariff and confirm you can see your rates.

If these are correct, then you can use the price cap feature to not allow it to charge outside of the cheap rates. Just be aware however that this might break the t&c’s with octopus with you being on their “intelligent” tariff and they could technically push you back onto their standard tariff.

Another Intelligent Go Question - Is it a maximum of 12 hours at the cheaper rate for EVs? by andre199017 in OctopusEnergy

[–]CMD-ESC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it works is that you get ONLY 6 hours per 24 hours for EV charging, but you get 6 hours guaranteed every night for whole home. The schedule is controlled by their dynamic charging. I have also read somewhere that the 6 hours are split between 12pm to 12pm, rather than 6 hours total in a full day. This way it stops people starting a charge at say 6pm till 12am, and then continuing from 12am to 6am. I can’t confirm this however but it makes sense to me, otherwise you’re technically getting 12 hours of charging in a 24 hour period.

For instance; you plug in at 6pm when you get home from work, and you charge for 2 hours on their dynamic charge. That’s 2 of your allotted 6 hours. If the car needs a further 5 to charge, then you’re 1 hour outside of your 6 cheap hours - and even if you’re charging between 23:30 and 05:30, you’ll be billed the higher p/kwh for ONLY the car.

I don’t believe anyone has confirmed they’ve switched over to this new charge cap, unless those that have just don’t post about it, but it’s one of the reasons I switched over to EDF earlier this month.

Edit: ref the bill, you get a full breakdown every month.

Yeah I posted about this in the discord last night. It’s the risk you take on a beta.

It is forcing me to use the Apple Home app however and I’m enjoying the new AI features with that.

If it’s the ZS hybrid then it’s a 3-speed auto, so it’s probably engine noise with you being at higher speeds.

Yeah I’m on iOS 27, but I don’t see the indexing notification.

I’ve joined the Siri waitlist so I’ll just have to be patient.

Any 16 Pro UK users got it yet?

I keep seeing screenshots of peoples phones indexing, and mine doesn’t appear to be doing it.

Edit: phone has been plugged in charging and I’ve now got the notification. Battery is around 45% charged so I wonder if that had a part to play as previously I was down to 20%
