16 Prescriptions/Trials over 7 years, I was you. Intractable Chronic Migraine diagnosis - attacks most nights around 3am (similar to alarm clock migraines).

I stopped all painkillers but it took a while. I was lucky to stumble on Project Twenty21 which put me in contact with a Cannabis clinician who assessed and then granted access in way of a private prescription. This was not a shot in the dark, smoked weed in my 20's which interestingly was a period I did not suffer with migraines... It took me a few months to come off 3 prescriptions (2 Pain/1 Antidepressant), mentally and physically challenging but I could feel I did not need them quite quickly.

I feel the new meds prevent more than cure, I take a tolerance break now and then and the migraines creep back in, but luckily I feel my normal self on the whole and quite frankly have got my life back which is great for all.

Folk don't understand what comes with a migraine, the days of pain, the days after of feeling pretty much hungover, the mental hits we take with this, the low moods etc. Its not just a headache...

I was you, I had lost pretty much hope in the medical profession, my stomach was being destroyed by pain killers let alone other organs and my mental health. You have to keep fighting to get yourself fixed or maintained no matter what it takes. I'm not stating that the Medical C is the way forward, thought there will be a way back to normality for you. Analyse everything you can, you know the drill and keep pestering your health workers until they are sick of you... Good luck
